My doctor has seem so much improvement, he is all for it. He knows it keeps me of the cancer sticks.

My doc was just so freaking AMAZED that I finally found a way to quit smoking, he sure wasn't gonna bad-mouth e-cigs! And I have a feeling that with all his geriatric smoker patients with chronic ailments, he's considering how to get ALL of 'em to switch to vaping! :D

I don't believe Doctors.

I don't believe any media.

Hell, I barely believe my own mama.

I trust myself and my own FEELING on the matter. Pack a day Marlboro reds for 30 some years, start vaping almost instantly feel better, more stamina, endurance, hardly ever sick any more where before it was a horrible bronchial infection bordering on pneumonia at least twice a year, skin, fingernails, hair looks better, eyes clearer, sleep better, wake easier, taste buds work better, nose works better, I smell better, lungs clearer, throat feels better blah, blah

Is vaping bad for you, probably, come on inhaling anthing other than air is not meant to be, but is it so much better than cigs it's ridiculous? YES.

The goal for all of us should be to eventually quit inhaling anything other than air.

If I quit inhaling albuterol, I'll have to live in a hospital. If I quit vaping, I'll go back to smoking. So no thanks, I'll keep inhaling whatever makes me NORMAL.

Good luck finding any place that has uncontaminated air. Even when you take out cigarettes, perfumes, etc., you still have cars and jet fuel contaminants to contend with.

Head for CASAA - The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association to find links to the research studies and data, and also for printable handout material.
Being open minded in this matter is a two way street. If there is qualiy research demonstrating Vaping to be dangerous I, as a vaper, want access. A health care provider by nature of their profession must be equally prepared to accept reliable data that contradicts their position on the matter.

even IF vaping isn't completely safe, it's STILL 95%-99% safer than continuing to smoke

Unless there are a number of clinical trials *proving* those percentages, I think i'ts best not to use specific %'s.

Is vaping acetyl proprianyl 99% safer than smoking? What about 20ml a day? What about @ 50 watts, etc. We don't know.

Nobody has a clue what vaping does to lungs.

We have no actual pathology photos of lungs of a 15 year smoker versus lungs of a 15 year vaper........myself, I'd like to see lungs of someone who has never smoked or vaped, in comparison to lungs of someone who has vaped for 10 years. (at least).

I used to work in a pathology department so used to looking at "organs" once removed from body. Lung xrays don't show what a pathology sample does. (We know this, or at least, I hope we do. ;) ) Just like a photo of a skin mole isn't the same as a pathology report, nor is xraying a colon polyp.......you have to do a pathology on it and also look at it in the flesh so to speak.

I vape because I am convinced it is better than smoking------ mostly because based on what I know about smoking, there's not too many things you can do to your body (whole body effect) that is worse than smoking cumbustibles-----I vape for harm reduction.

But I don't know where people are getting these numbers from...there is no research, that I know of, that has collected all the aspects of vaping (eliquid used, temperatures, hardware, coils, etc. ) and proven any of these percentages like I see posted around here.

I have always been comfortable saying that vaping is harm reduction.......when people take it past that I think we are getting into some problem areas because there aren't enough studies. And by the way, one study with 100 people wouldn't suffice. The way a good scientist evaluates a study is that it must go on for years, and it must have ample numbers of patients......not a handful. There are reasons for this, and reason for MULTIPLE studies.

I agree Racehorse.
We could find problems with wick fibers, atomizer metals, burnt flavorings... Those could be resolved if studies are ever done. Not that they will be.
I'm content that it is better than smoking. I could not have quit smoking without vaping. I think a nonsmoker that vapes is an idiot. No, just a juvenile with immortality syndrome. But, whatever.
Anymore, I only ask hardcore smokers if they have tried e-cigs. I don't even suggest or encourage anymore. By now if they haven't, they just aren't ready and may never be.
I'm a willing lab rat. It's too bad this was seen as a fad, and no baseline stats were done.

I'm seeing one of the best sports Dr's in florida for my left rotator (he did my right last year). This guy is highly praised and works with the dolphins and marlins athletes down here. He is thrilled with my vaping over smoking. Among the many issues with smoking is how it ......s the body's ability to heal from these procedures. I do what he says...he's the man down here in fla.

Still not smoking or vaping at all would obviously be better but this is the best step for me.

my fiancee is a doctor. she said it's better than smoke (i was smoking 2 pad per day)... but "you are vaping a lot" lol... like 8 ml per day
i think is to much too but for now its ok

Your body doesn't absorb the nicotine from vaping as much as from smoking, so you are doing just fine, I think!!!

Most of us would have gone on to emphysema at some point, and some to cancer or at least greatly reduced lung and heart function had we continued to smoke. Vaping probably isn't without its own little set of effects on health, but it's got to be better than smoking.

I wouldn't recommend that a non-smoker start vaping. That would be a bad choice for someone who isn't addicted to nicotine.

I do wish that there were more long term studies on the effects of vaping. We now have over half a decade of use, so there's some accumulated history to study. Who knows what happens to someone who vapes at a certain level for 30 years. We only know what happened to lab rats in the 1940s after two years of PG vapor exposure. The rats that breathed PG vapor were healthier than their room air breathing counterparts.
