OK,

It's been almost a week and since I got my Kissbox and a few days since my last posting , it's been a roller coaster ride for me and the KissBox.

Here are my findings thus far...

Quick Review

It took me about 2 days to break in the atomizer. Once the atomizer broke in, I was getting a very satisfying amount of vapor and throat hit. More so with the manual switch vs. the auto switch. What I also do not like about the auto switch is the cut off. I like to take long drags and this was a issue with me. I really don't have that problem with the manual.

batteries

My batteries lasted on average about 2 hours of consistant vaping with the auto switch. With the manual switch the batteries would last me an extra hour of consistant vaping meaning, puff for about 5-10 minutes and vape again around 5-10 minutes later.

Now comes the roller coaster ride. It seems as if my batteries are not punching out enough power to get the same vaping experience I have been enjoying for the last few days. I find myself recharging them frequently and they are not lasting me as long as they should. The average time now for my batterries under the same conditions has dropped to an average of 1 hour or so. Vapor seems to diminish alot sooner than before. My batteries would give out on me about 20 minutes or so later after I realize the vapor amount diminsihing. I need to find out if this is just a battery issue, an atomizer issue or both.

This is not good. I ended up vaping with a DSE901 for the remainder of the night where I always get a good throat hit and vapor no matter what. man that's a great all around e-cig. Anyway,

I will start tomorrow experimenting with the batteries by allowing them to recharge 5 hours instead of 4 to see if there is a difference and make notes of my results.

Depending on the results, I will also try recharging them for 12 hours, vape for 20 mins then recharge again for another 4.

Atomizer

Once those notes are taken, I will begin experimenting, under the same conditions (5 hour charge and manual switch, same e-juice or same flavored cart) the difference in vapor between the Janty atomizer, and a compatible atomizer from PureSmoker.com. I will be using brand new never used atomizers from Janty and Pure Smoker with 2 different carts but the same flavor. This will be a a-b comparison test. The only item that will remain the same on both is the manual switch.

I am hoping that the batteries are not craping out on me. If so, then I'm going to have to send them back. Bummer, I'm still waiting for the USB pass through to arrive. Remember, It did not come with my order and got confirmation that I will be getting one of the newer ones with an improved battery shortly.

Pen Tip

I'm getting accustomed to the flat tip but it still does not do anything for me. I feel like a skirt smoking with it. I only hope that in the near future Janty can come up with a round tip for it's kissbox users as an option.

Dripping

I tried dripping twice with the Kissbox and have found it to be cumbersome and not really worth it. IMO, it's drama. You got to have a steady hand because that atomzer is pretty deep in there. I did not see any difference between dripping and vaping from a cart with regards to throat hits and vapor. My opinion, use the carts and refill/top off when necessary. But, if you like to drip on the atomizer, I highly reccommend instead of using the bottle drippers, use actual droppers. They are long enough to get in there so you can drip directly ontop of the atomizer without creating a mess. Another option are the needle nose bottle drippers. You'll notice that a few sellers sell their e-juice with these bottles that have a long needle nose type dripper. Most of them have an orange cap. These are specifically made for direct dripping into hard to reach atomizers and they are a plus! I have one that has vanilla e-juice and they do make a difference.

Carts

Carts will last you a while due to it's size, However, when you are half way thru and/or start to see the vapor amount lessen, it's a good idea to use tweezers and push the cart fiber up and down a bit to resoak in the liquid that's left towards the bottom of the cart or turn the fiber upside down to vape with liquid that seems to get stuck at the bottom of the cart and not make it's way up towards the top of the cart fiber. I am now as I type vaping with my first refilled cart. Refilled it with Pure Smoker's menthol juice and the carts do hold alot of liquid. I can say that the covers for the carts are excellent!! I do not see any reason why you need to place refilled carts into a ziplock bag for fear of leakage. With the latex (or rubber..not sure what it is) over the cart to seal the juice in and the plastic cap, you can easily put these into your pocket. This is a plus! The plastic caps lock in place provided that you inset the cart in alignment with the identations.

Conclusion

My final thoughts are inconclusive at this time. I still need to troubleshoot the situation with my batteries and do the A/B test with the atomizers.

One thing that I can comment on is the fact that although the carts can hold alot of liquid, it is of no use if the liquid stuck at the bottom can't make it's way up to the top of the cart in order for you to vape it. Having to constantly remove the cart, grab tweezers and resoak to me is drama and to much work. It is a reminder (at least to me) how addicted I am to e-cigs and it's border line junkie behavior. At least with the DSE901 and others, when you're dried up, you're pretty much dried up. Yeah yeah yeah, I know that you need to hold the e-cig at a certain angle that's pratically vertical, but if I wanted to do that, why not vape from a straw? To simulate analog smoking, my e-cig has to be horizontal from my mouth not almost vertical. This is the only setback I see with the hugh cart sizes. Who knows, I may be wrong. But, I still vape with the kissbox horizontally and do find myself resoaking the fiber inside the cart in order to optimize my vapor and taste. Having to do that 3-4 times for each cart is imo, to much work. Dripping on this atomizer is also drama. It's like digging for gold. you gotta go deep. In situations where there is not enough lighting, more than likely you will miss the spot.

With that said, this is THE BLUE KNIGHT signing off till next time!!

Well I got to say that I am very disappointed with the kissbox.

The first few days were very good. Then it was downhill from there. The batteries do not last long at all and can not keep up with my vaping habits as good as my RN4081 and DSE901.

I've had a busy week and have not had the time to put on my lab coat and do the test I mentioned in the last post. This week however, I do have free time and will do so.

I am contemplating selling this thing along with the extra atomizers and usb pass through if within the next week or so it can not live up to my expectations.

So far, I'm not feeling it.

The extended Kissbox system is great if you use another atomizer. I am not a fan of the KB atomizers as they seem to let too much air into the atomizer chamber. Jeff from JantyUSA sent me a replacement and it is good, but not great. I have better luck using a generic pen-style atomizer from Puresmoker or VaporGuys. Otherwise, the two switches, batteries, USB pass-through and warranty make for a nice, market-priced package. My favorite feature is no auto sut-off with the manual switch.

KISSBOX CLASSIC - JANTY USA

Got it yesterday. Gave the first battery it's 12 hr charge and now I'm vaping for the next 20 min's before letting it charge again for another 4 (as per instructions).

Initial impressions...

1. Janty forgot to include in the kit the USB passthru. I got everything else that's included in the extended kit (See website for more details). Sent Jeff over there an email last night about it and I'm waiting for a reply. Once in stock, took 2 days for it to get to me.

2. When puffing, good amount of vapor. When I inhale into lungs then exhale..hardly anything. That's not good for me. (Using automatic switch for now). I like to see vapor when I exhale (after inhaling into lungs like a real cig). Going to assume that it might have to do with either breaking in the atomizer, breaking in the battery or both. Going to wait till after the batteries are broken in and/or the atomizer before I make my final thoughts on exhaling vapor after inhaling.

3. I'm not crazy about the flat pen tip. I'm used to the regular round tips. I don't know, for me it feels a little to "feminish".

4. No LED at battery end tip. This caught me by surprise. I had no clue. I do like to see the LED Ash turning on and off but I guess I can live without it.

5. It is very well made. Metal casing seems to be of quality material.

6. Yes the carts are huge and can hold alot of juice. I have not dripped yet. I'm taste testing the Ryan carts that came with it that I'm very neutral about the flavor. Not bad, but yet not good. I guess it's an aquired taste.

7. For my taste, it is very big. It is exactly 6 inches long from end to end with all items attached (Cart, atomizer, switch and battery). It is in my opinion to big for me to carry in my pocket and carry it around. The case that came with it helps, but to put it together, vape then take it apart...seems like alot of work for me.

Overall, I can not come up with a conclusion for it at this time. Still waiting for the atomizer and battery to break in.

What I can say is that I can see myself vaping this thing while sitting on a leather sofa seat, in front of a huge fire place while reading a good book or the New York Times, sipping tea on a beautiful snowy day while wearing a very expensive bathrobe or a suit and listening to classical music in the background.........NOT!!!!

That's not my style...I'm a biker!!! I don't have time to sit on my ... infront of a fireplace etc etc...Shoot, I don't even have a fireplace. Anyway, I rather be sitting on my motorcycle on the open road riding from state to state and with the sound of my pipes roaring setting off every car alarm that I pass by  while having a RN4081 styled e-cig hanging from my mouth not having to worry about the wind turning the damn thing off. I'm going to start looking into the cigars as well but need to do the research first.

I'm going to give this thing a benefit of a doubt and wait until the batteries are up to speed and the atomizer broken in to see what happens. It can be a pretty good e-cig to smoke when at home while studying or reading or doing some other type of administrative function at home. It might even come in handy to vape it in areas where you don't really want to bring attention to yourself with a LED light like for example at the airports.

My style is an e-cig that looks like a analog cig (White with orange LED and tip hence my RN4081's and Magnum) and have one to use at home or any other areas where a real looking e-cig might cause me uneccessary attention at places where smoking is not allowed (Restaurants, airports etc for example). Yes yes yes, I am all into educating the public about e-cigs and stuff like that but sometimes when I'm just trying to relax, I don't want to be bothered.

My e-cig collection to date is a s follows:

DSE901 - Black - InLife Prestige
RN4081 - Pure Smoker PeeWee and Smoking Everywhere Gold e-cig.
Longtotem V9 - epuffer Eaze Magnum
PenStyle - Janty USA Kissbox Classic

The Blue Knight - Max

Out of them all, which one is your favorite, and why?

Out of them all, which one is your favorite, and why?

Need to add on to the list the Ruyan Vegas disposable cigar.

Out of them all...

For vaping at home..The DSE901 with usb passthru. Plenty of vapor and flavor when dripped on and of course with the right juice...throat hit.

A close second would be the RN4081. Also, with the passthru, plenty of vapor, flavor and throat hit BUT I love the round tip on this one over the flat tip on the dse901.

They are both pretty much neck and neck.

So I use the RN4081 for menthol only and the DSE901 for the variety of flavored juices I have here at home.

I find that the Smoking Everywhere batteries are better than the PeeWee batteries. Longer cutoff time and more power to produce good vapor and throat hit over the PeeWee batteries, and they last longer.

I did notice however that with the ...
SE batteries...use empty orange mouth piece with no cart and drip
PeeWee batteries..use orange mouth piece WITH cart but still drip

for a more realistic drag.

The Ruyan disposable cigar...so far my favorite for being out and about on the road.

First, I needed to drain the cart with the awful flavor it came with. After cleaning it out, I refilled it with PS Menthol.

Now when I'm on the road, no need to worry about refilling, dripping or battery recharging.

It's been 2 days since I refilled it and it's still going strong, cart, battery and vapor.

It's very smooth to vape.

Eaze Magnum.....ALOT of vapor but no flavor or throat hit. I'm going to try another batch of carts from another supplier to see what happens. But this one particular model from the looks of things is going to be a paper weight.

I had my Kissbox for one week and the atomizer just dropped dead. In "panic" I borrowed a friend's e-CIG and found out from this forum that the second atomizer fitted Janty just fine. The atomizer is very good, I would say better than Jantys own. Now, I have received a new Janty atomizer, but it feels like I am sucking more air than vapor, feels like a leak. Look at the pictures please. Why is there exstra gaps (holes) in the Janty? The white atomizer (do not know what model it is) does not make as much noise as you suck. Can anyone see what model it is and / or have someone in her similar experience?

regards Helle

Thanks SambucaLu... how do you tell these numbers apart? I can read numbers like 801 901 etc. what are they? Is it possible to see pictures of these numbers so I also can understand what they are? I gather they are parts numbers - or is that wrong?

Helle :)

A 901 is a mini. That's an entirely different model....different batts, atomizers, carts, chargers, etc. The RN4075 is another mini. A lot of people will call their mini a 901 just for ease sake. (And not to be confused with the supermini....a whole other model....the smallest.)

The 801 is one model of a penstyle. How to tell the difference between the 801 penstyle and RN4072 model penstyle atomizers and batteries? Honestly, I'm not sure. I have bought atomizers from a few different suppliers and never knew which ones they were. But it ended up not mattering as they were all interchangeable.

thanks - that is a good link...

Got me thinking; Wonder if the Janty Classic Atomizer would fit on the Janty Kissbox? The atomizer looks very similar to the white one on my picture 6-7 post further up this thread?

I would be pretty certain the Classic would fit the KB. Probably would say on the site though.
