Like most smokers, I tried to quit at least a million times. And failed every time. I had moderate success with Zyban; stayed quit for about 18 months about a dozen years ago. But I never didn't want a cigarette. In a moment of weakness, I bought a pack. Within three days I was back to a pack-a-day as if I'd never quit. There isn't anything good about smoking. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

I want to report that aside from four cigarettes that I "had" to smoke due to technical difficulties with my e-cig in the first couple weeks, I have not smoked in six weeks. I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to smoke an "analog" cigarette. None. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Ever. vaping is a thousand times cheaper and probably more than a thousand times safer than smoking. I'd like to gradually reduce the nicotine level in my juice to zero. But if I remain addicted to nicotine for the rest of my life, I'm OK with that. I just hope this is going to help me have a longer, easier-breathing life. For me, I have the nicotine and I have the hand-to-mouth action... the two biggest things that kept me smoking.

I'm 49 years old. I started smoking when I was 13. That's 36 years of a pack-a-day, on average. My mother was 49 when she died of lung cancer. I'm told her mother was 49 when she died of lung cancer. I had a chest x-ray on Thursday (have had a few through the years). My doctor hasn't called me to tell me they found anything, so touch wood I'm "good."

I can breathe. I don't stink. I don't have to step outside in the cold/heat/rain/snow/wind anymore because I can vape inside everywhere but at work. I'm a little grumpy about having to go outside to the smoking area at work and have to smell that/smell like that ~yuck~, but I try to stand away from the smokers. And during any given break, there are likely to be as many if not more of "us" than there are of "them."

If I could, I'd buy all of my smoking friends and family a starter kit and set them on their way to being smoke-free.

OK, enthusiastic testimonial over. lol The big question is... Is it 'OK' if I'm perfectly happy with the EVOD? Well, since I like menthol, I've actually stepped up to a mini Protank (butIdroppeditanditbrokesoIthrewitawayandIjustdiscoveredIcanreplacetheglasssoI'mgoingtogohomeandrootthroughmytrashandseeifIcanrescueit). All of the information and terminology and opinions make my head spin. My KISS 'set-up' (can I even call it that??) with the KGO mega and a Protank or mini Protank works just fine for me. Some varieties of menthol with one or two "vape tongue fixers" is enough. I don't get the VV/VW, and rebuilding, and wicking, and... just sounds like a huge PIA to me. I just want to charge, fill, and vape. Clean it and change the coil now and then. Will I be banned from this great community if I stick with just the basics? ;)

Seriously - I'm enjoying all the great advice and discussion and camaraderie here. Great site! I do appreciate it.

P.S. I've seen more than once where someone has said (paraphrasing), "If you can't smoke there, don't vape there." If this community as a whole sticks to that attitude, we're gonna rock! I always considered myself a VERY considerate smoker. I will admit to vaping in a bathroom stall at work, though. But no sense giving anyone a reason to hate... some people are too good and making up reasons all on their own.

Congrats and it is stories like yours that just make me want to spit on the FDA and legislators trying to get ban/regulate/tax e-ciggs.

There is no wrong way to vape. I don't want complicated and I don't like to tinker. My regular sized Protank II with an Aerotank base is my daily driver and even though I have some other stuff, I still prefer the simple set up and use it more than anything else. I did buy a Provari though :)

The really nice thing about vaping is being able to use whatever works for you. My daughter and I were happy using cigalikes for 2 years, since we started vaping. They kept us from going back to smoking. The only reason we moved on to Evod setups was the fact that we were tired of wasting the money when some juices clogged the cartos. We have the regular Evod tanks and a Protank 2 mini each. The fact that we can clean and reuse the heads was a real plus when we were considering changing setups. They work for us.

Hey we are on the same schedule, I kicked the last few about 6 weeks ago myself, cool as hell huh? A coworker of mine was struggling with her setup so I payed forward an innokin v3 and a T3 tank, she is in heaven now being able to play with the wattage. Never hurts to have a backup but no need to go nuts, like I did ... lol. Congrats and you use whatever makes you happy.

Congrats to you MsP :toast:
I bought a Blu and a pack of cigs at the same time more than eight months ago and it took more than a week to finish that pack. Started vaping at 18 nic and now down to six. I was quit for three years once and got stupid and went back. Next time I quit was many years later after heart surgery, that time I lasted six years. Nicotine is a ..... and every time you quit and go back it becomes harder to quit. Stay with the vapes. Use whatever works for you and don't worry about how good/bad your hardware is. If it works for YOU then it's good. I've always believed in KISS.

KISS is great
Sorry to say, it became a "hobby" for me.
Well, not really sorry, they are my defense against Big Tobacco, Big Pharmaceuticals, FDA, and anyone else who wants to get in my way.
My security blanket
Much cheaper your way
Even with all my collection of "shinny's, I use the twist, spinners, and Vamo's daily (with both sizes of protanks)
You will need backup though, (just in case).
Congrat's, I like your attitude.

An ACK! follow-up to the Mini Protank breakage... I bought two new ones. Plus replacement glass in blue and red, with new acrylic tips to match. :p Waited till the next morning to set them up. Can't get the stainless tips off. What??? Aw man, it's one solid piece. WTH? Called the shop that day and I could tell by the tone of voice they thought I was nuts. Told me to bring them back and they'd "fix" them for me. Took them back, along with my first one that does come apart to prove I'm not nuts (well, not this time anyway). They were kinda stunned... I'd been given the old version, which they didn't think they'd seen in a few months. Now they think they were somehow mixed into the new shipment of v2s. So, not so nuts. lol They replaced them, no problem, and I came home and put my pretties together the way I wanted them.

Told ya - every week it's something new. I keep having "technical difficulties." lol But I'm still lovin' it!

Cheers!
