k100 and protank drawing issue.. hard to take a hit..

Hey guys, Im fairly new to the vape life, about a month to be exact.. so please bare with my slight ignorance...

I'm not sure if there is a thread for this already but I recently got my k100 and was not into the cartomizer deal.. so I went to my local vape shop and purchased my protank 1... Im not sure what I may have done wrong but its extremely difficult to take a hit when the tank is tightened all the way. For the past few days I've been using it with the tank loose to the point where my tank can wiggle back and forth, just so i can get some air flow through.

I've been searching all over the forum all morning trying to figure out if anyone was having the same issue but I cant seem to find a thread similar to my issue..

I tried screwing in my tank first into my k100 and then the battery and vice versa but still no luck...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks fellow vapers,
Nick

Do you have it completely tight or do you stop turning it once it stops threading easily?

I have a k101 and a Protank II and it works just fine. The K100 should have slits on the 510 connector and the 3 air holes on the telescope that should allow air flow.

Back it off a bit, or add an air flow controller ($3-4). Should work fine. I always back off my tank to increase air flow when required. Some batteries have air flow control built-in. Some toppers have air flow control built-in. And, the addition of an air flow controller can improve the vape, up or down, in most situations. In some batteries with air slits, I still don't get good enough air flow and just back the topper off a bit. Over tightening is very bad for both the topper and the battery and can damage your devices. Not saying you are doing that, either, just mentioning a common problem posted here on the forum. Better to be a little loose, than a little tight is all. Good luck to you, power up and vape on!

I had this problem with protank ii on every mech mod in two shops locally. Finally found solutions.
First, you can use ego/510 adapter, it fixes it.
Or, simply, take the base off like you are gonna file it, and unscrew the atomizer head just a tiny bit, to make sure it is not seated real tight as would be the normal inclination. Then, i screw the protank into the mod just enough that it does not wiggle at all.

This seems to be a common problem recently because last weekend I had trouble finding the fix in Reddit/ECF, and this week I see several asking about it.

1. Drill out/enlarge the 3 air holes on the ego drip well on top of the K100
2. Remove the flavor wicks in your Pro Tank, might leak more though
3. If all else fails add an air flow extension between your K100 and pro tank
4. OR best solution is to get an IGO-W and drill out your holes to 1/16 inch and enjoy more flavor and more vapor without the tight draw.

I Had this exact same thing happen to me on the same set up. Took it into my local vape shop and they were also stumped. after buying a new protank (thought it was dead) the problem was still there, But, we ended up putting a new base with longer threads and problem was solved. Take it into a shop if you can, a lot of times they have extra parts. hopfully they are a cool as the guys at my local shop. Good luck.
