I'm having a slight problem with my K100 today, it's not hitting well for maybe 2 reasons. One, I haven't sanded the contact down yet. Planning to do that today. Do I need the Noalox? And two, I was using a 3 ohm carto, that's all I have right now. Is that an issue with a mechanical?

You said 'today', have you had same problem with this 3 ohm carto before? This way you can narrow down the issue.

i would say "definitely" its the 3 Ohm resistance; mechanicals are only voltage of what the battery provides. Anything over 2.0 = not so good.
Try LR...

Thanks genabass and ukeman. It's a new carto, I haven't used them before on anything, I think they were supposed to be 2 ohm. But it's working fine on the Vamo at 5 volts. I was all excited because I finally found and got in the mail today the blue matching drip shield that didn't come with the co-op K. lol Guess I need to shop for some LR. Thanks guys.

exactly... the K100 is mechanical ... no electronics to limit wattage...and runs off the battery only; no booster... you get from 4.2 (fresh) to 3.5v and time to change batts.... see?
you need less resistance to get the vapor optimized... i'm using an iGo L with a .9 Ohm atomizer. excellent.

Yeap, same here, sub ohm resistance on my genies!

I am running 1.8 ohm EVOD's on this and I am very happy with the taste and vapor production. Having said that, I am looking at the Sigelei #19b mod (as much as I love the K100).

Yay, I'm a senior member now, I feel so special. :p

The sigelei 19b is a very nice mech mod, got mine a couple days ago and its drop dead gorgeous! :D had the itch to mod the mod lol! and now it's performing top notch without a glitch. I got it paired with an igo-l, 18650 mode and love the heavy feel of it. My k100 is a work horse though and my dedicated work mod.

I love the way Sigelei 19b looks in 18350 mode! Is it heavier than K100?

Soooo....this 19B. Does it fix any of the issues that Ed brought up on his site/shop? I still like the looks of this thing but I'm kinda leery of doing a lotta work (that I have no experience in) to make it safe and functional.

I don't think they fixed those issues probably never will unless they come up with a version 2 or something. Mine did came with a hot spring for the head instead of the magnet but the switch still has that darn magnet. Out of the box it works good without doing anything to it but it does need some improvement for better performance.

I have 3 K100 and 1 K101.... they're the same imo. just different look; slightly.

These are heavier than i thought they would be, but thats good imo.

I think they hit good out of the box... I'm not about modding anything 'cause i'd probably mess it up, no hot button issues! and they take to a super low resistance like wow.

I only wish the spring was stiffer... if there is a replacement spring that someone could refer me to that's good, but stiffer, i'd be on it. Why? because if i go to 18500 or 18650 it puts more weight on the device; top side. So i have to lock it before putting it down upright.

Have the springs always been weak or did they get weaker over time? I just got a K100 last week and even with an 18650 and an AGA T2 it will stand on end without compressing the spring.

ok, i guess i am so used to a tight spring from my V1 Caravela clones; at first it was like wow, these are TOO stiff!
But they stand up so well, and i'm used to it by now they have softened just a little...
I'm thinking if the K100 comes with softer springs than that (they do), then eventually they will get softer from usage.
When i set my K100 down with say 500 or 650 batts they push down on the springs moreso than the 350 batts do, not to mention what atomizer is on there...
i keep iGo L on them a lot; which are less weight too.
maybe not an issue, but i usually lock mine if i have a bigger batt in there; 350's don't last too long either...
