Hi guys and gals, new to the forum but not vaping. Hoping to now get some help and/or advice with my new Aerotank.

I have used the PT2 and PT mini and for the most part worked the bugs out of them over time and enjoyed them. Well I just got the Aero and was loving it for the past day. I like the style of it, the wide chimney style drip tip is good, the assembly and disassembly is about the same as past tanks. The threads and O rings are well done for the tank, but I wish the threads on the airflow control had a little more tension or clicked, but the controller does work well and it spins nicely. Also, finally a sealed 510 connector.

Now the problem. I got the tank, took it apart, washed it, dried it thoroughly, assembled, added juice and continued using a coil from my PT mini since I was using the same juice. All was going great for the past day, I was loving this tank, the best Kanger yet, until it was time to change juice and add the new dual coil that came with the Aerotank. I did my cleaning again, added the new dual coil, checked ohm's, dripped onto wicks, filled tank, assembled and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Gave it a primer puff, set my VV to 3.4v just to play it safe with the 2.1 ohm dual coil(my VV batteries have all been tested on a meter). First draw I take is gentle making sure I don't burn, but to my surprise there was the burn taste. Before I continued I checked for vapor lock in the tank by loosening it to let some air in and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes again. Second pull of it, BURNT!

I thought maybe i had a bad wick/coil somehow, so I changed to the second dual coil that came with the tank. After letting it wick for some time again… it didn't! The draw off that coil too had a bad taste and was either burning or not wicking.

Are these Kanger dual coils that bad, I never used them?

Feel free to chime in please. No new coils for me till tomorrow.

Thanks all!

I don't have the Aerotank, but I do have a Protank 3 which uses the same dual coils. I know it's unlikely, but I think you have 2 bum coils. I don't taste any burnt flavor and I'm using 4.3-4.5v. I'm pretty sure the only difference between the PT3 and the Aero is the air-flow controller with the sealed 510. So unless that has something to do with it (which it might, watch Pbusardo's video on the PT2 and you'll see one 510 with no airflow, but one with perfect airflow), I would think it's the coils.

Continue to prime it and see if the burn taste goes away. It might just be oily coil or wick. When priming it, don't inhale it. If the burn taste continues after 10 puffs, you might have to take the chimney off for closer inspection.

I am not too impressed with PT dual coil head design. Single coil head gave me more consistent hit for me. Maybe tiny more warm vapor on double coil. If single coil works for you, just stick with that.

Just a thought, try pulling the center pin down slightly on the dual coil. I know on the single coils if the pin gets tightened down too tight it squashes the rubber grommet blocking airflow and giving burnt hits. Pulling the pin down slightly and not over tightening the tank fixes the problem.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I checked everything that has been mentioned. I guess I just got 2 bad coils in the new box. I just built a 2mm single coil and all is well. I would definitely say this is the best Kanger tank yet. I'll give it 4.75 stars out of 5, only because I think they should have made the airflow controller with slightly more define adjustment. All in all, it's great!!

That's good to know. Like I said before, I'm 95% sure the only difference from the PT3 and Aero is the 510 connection, so I was thinking about buying the airflow controller and using it on my PT3. Only thing stopping me is the PT3 airflow is perfectly fine for me. So I don't feel like messing with it lol.

Thanks for the heads up! The tank is performing great, it was just the coils. I'm burning some custom coils/wick now and it's been going well. Just the usual vapor lock, so I just loosen the tank a bit and watch the air bubble rise.

If your still having problems with your AreoTank I would suggest visiting Sun Vapers website. The owner of that place had a hand in designing the AreoTank. It's worth a shot to send him an e-mail. I don't remember his name but the guy is very nice.

Are you still running single coil on that PT3? Will those work in the dual coil head? Just picked up a PT3 & separate airflow controller from local B&M tonight, the first coil seemed to flood a lot, so I switched to the second coil which seems to be working for now. Not familiar with rebuilding dual coils, so if singles will work...i am good to go.

Thanks!

Just to add, i also got a new aero tank. Its very good, mostly because of the sealed 510 and the design, it found it very sleek, solid.
The coils, well, this is a problem apart. From the first one i used, 1 week on halo turkish, nice, with some gurgling and some times burnt taste. Changed to halo freedom, horrible burnt taste. Changed coil, new from pack. 3 days later, bad burnt taste again.
Done a quick dry burn now, it seen the taste is over. Im vaping it around 4 volts, lesser than dont produce much vapor.
Anyway, while i love the new design of aero tank, im still convinced that single coils are far better. When this one worn off i will rebuild using kanthal+cotton, single coil. I love to vape on a simple single coil on my protank 2, runs around 3.5 - 4v without issues.

Just side note: got also a new protank 3, air intake is horrible, cause it only have 2 holes. With added coil, juice tastes too mellow, and the draw is too short. Im going to dremel another hole. My winner protank2 uses the base from my old protank 1, with 3 holes, its a champ. I just dont understand why kanger believes that having less air intake is actually much more good. In protank 3 this design flaw is even more apparent, with increased coil its really important to have more air coming inside.

I have been having the same problem with My aerotank 2...but after I switched coils I for some reason now can't even vape off it...so I just switched back to my evod...I have no idea what I did wrong

Remember you are supposed to use dual coil (protank3/aerotank) types... its stated that older single coils (evod/protank) arent compatible, although some ppl managed to use it.
