Hi there,

I have been vaping VCV Caramel Swirl juice (high VG with water) with no problem on my Evod 2 starter kit. Last Friday I upgraded to the eMow Mega Kit which has the Mow Mega Aerotank. I chain vaped the kit and the juice since Friday and tonight the first coil went. Fair enough, it is thick juice and still much cheaper than analogues. So I changed the coil and discovered that the juice still tasted off, so I assume it was spoiled by the bad coil? Yes I did wait and prime it :)

I then used my spare tank (duplicated of the first) with the coil, provided in the tank from the vendor and some fresh juice. Vaped for two hours and the coil went again. The silica just slips out on either end of the tank.

What is going on? The little Evod 2 was able to handle the juice, the coils where the same.................

Hmm. Well I'm not sure what you could be doing to cause that. I know with my emow's that they don't handle really thick juice that well. I usually get 2 or 3 tanks off high VG juice as opposed to 5-7 with 50-50 before they need to be tossed in the pot of boiling water. But if the evod-2 handled it then the emow should as well. So.... where do you have the airflow control set at? The evods have a tighter draw so you may want to go down to 1 or 2 holes on the control to simulate what an evod is like. That will suck more juice into the coil, maybe increased airflow is causing the silica to come out.
I have had the silica slide out the side of my coils as well though, but it's rare. When it does happen I just pull it the rest of the way out and go right on vaping.

Wish I could be more (any) help.

You carry on vaping without the wick? I will try adjusting the Airflow but it was fine fully open for the last 3.5 days. If the coils last 3.5 days and I was just unlucky to get one bad one, I can live with it. I hope my new juice will arrive soon as I am beginning to run low with all the wasted liquid as it just tastes burned after the coil goes.

You can see here, I hope, the extra wicking between the top and bottom coil. This is a picture of the old exposed wick style, but having taken apart a a newer one with only the airholes visible, they're the exact same thing inside. The new ones just have that casing slid over it. I guess it helps with flooding. But I've never had a problem with either style. All the extra wick, or flavor wick does is absorb excess juice to prevent flooding. But with thicker juice they're unnecessary and can actually get in the way.
