Would you like to have a giggle? Today I used the code provided on page three of this thread to get my MVP 20W as I was tired of worrying about how many full batteries I had, if going out for the entire day :)

I know they are about to bring out a new one but figured that I really did not need any more function right now than the 20W provides. I do however have plans to invest in a Mod with an eveolv dna 40 chip but not right now. I need to get my head around normal coils for the moment and use up what I have got.

the 20w should be a great fit for any starter IMO.
The DNA 40 has been having some issues that I haven't heard they've gotten resolved, however, if I was in the market for one of those I think I would go VaporShark - they have a great service policy and some slick and tiny mods. Additionally, they sell manufactured coil heads you can use with the "temperature" control for Aspire and Kanger Heads.

I looked at the vaporshark and have to admit that it has a few little issues, that I can not forgive, like the display at the bottom and less than pretty set of buttons and connectors. The Hana has great colors but I am not keen on the lack of a magnetic door or the HUGE logo..... So I figured that I was either going to wait until somebody made something that would make me part with my money or I have to persuade my other half to build one for me.

No matter what, I am sure the MVP will serve its purpuse. Right now it does not really matter what I vape as my taste has completely gone again:( I hope that this phase is over soon.

Try some unflavored 100% VG juice at the Nic level you prefer.
I never looked back after I did and boy does everything else (Like food or drinks) taste great again.

I get mine from myfreedomsmokes.com and I am very happy with it.

Well, I guess if your going to be picky about it! lol (I'd be picky too if it was my $100+!)

I didn't mean the MVP was "starter" gear in the way you'd have to upgrade soon, I just meant that it should have a low learning curve and give you a generally hassle free vape - it can push most clearomizers. I think most vapers would be plenty happy with an MVP20w, though here on ECF we mostly have hobbyists... this is sounding like a post I wrote before on this thread... lol

There are a lot of "Advanced Vapers/Hobbyists" here for sure.

Love the insight of the people that take it to that level.

Much to be learned from their insight and experiences.

At the same time there is a lot to be gained from the experience of everyday "middle class" vapers that just enjoy a hassle free day to day way to get their fix.

Eric

Edit:

Most importantly we can all as a community help each other to enjoy vaping and stay off the coffin nails.

Couldn't agree more with the insight comment... but My "advanced setup" is hassle free ... no ordering pre made coils and with the wick i'm using (ReadyXWick) I don't have to rebuild but every few months, just dry burn daily, fill the bottle in my REO and swap batteries occasionally :) Gotta love that about vaping though - there is something for everyone.. its just expensive to find it some times :)

I only skimmed, but I'm calling it -- this is one crazy thread.

Please, no one tell Caprilli about fasttech or she'll end up homeless pushing piles of vape gear around in shopping carts, and you don't want that on your conscience. Or, if you do, at least inform me so we can setup some sort of pool like a vape equipment bingo. ;)

When I feel I need to do what you do you can be sure I will hit you up for some advice.

I appreciate the knowledge that exists on this forum.

How about we all help you push your shopping cart on the way to the bingo at the local volunteer fire company hall?

:)

Coils made with less resistant wire heats slower and generally requires more power to get it to heat up, thats why you see 150+w box mods popular with cloud chasers - they can atomize more liquid faster because the coil has more surface area, more surface area means more area for air and juice to be exposed to the coil which results in more vapor. :)

I read each post and now I am confused - not an uncommon situation. You indicate "Coils made with less resistant wire heats slower..... and - generally requires more power to get it to heat up..."

The laws I followed tell me that a 1.0 OHM COIL will heat FASTER and a 2.2 Ohm COIL will heat slower IF the same voltage is applied. Wire size aside - less resistance means faster heating and greater resistance equates to slower heating.

Perhaps someone can explain HOW HecticEnergy indication that the lower resistance will heat "slower" than a high resistance coil?? I'm once again "confised". To me it goes against the laws of physics.

I just want to clarify this for anyone finding the thread. In this case, as is often the case with B&M's: they are wrong and don't fully understand what they are selling.

The istick will click down under 4V on the screen, but it doesn't actually output under ~4.1V. The electronics have to be able to lower the voltage it gets from the battery. If it can't, it'll just output the ~4V until the battery is so low that what it's getting is 3.7V or such.

Again, it may say 3.3V, or 3.7V -- but it'll always be 4.1V or higher -- and does even weirder things at other voltages. Which is OK if your ohms are higher or your tank needs the extra oomph, but causes problems if you need lower voltages or accuracy at lower voltages.

For reference, you can see it here, at just after 23:20 when he shows the voltage charts (here's where it should be, here's where it is, etc.):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_W1G7p_fCJw

And there's a post by another member here, along with a chart showing the voltages where it's regulated and where it isn't:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...sion/601111-eleaf-istick-11.html#post14200257

With that, I return you to what Caprilli's one-person rendition of Brewster's Millions.

*gives the horns*

The indication above says it will never go to less than 4.1 until the battery is partially depleted. The info from a third party site says: "VV/VW – 4.7 to 20 watts and 3.0 to 5.5 volts"; so, I presume they are not being truthful? That seems foolish for any manufacturer does it not? One note: The site indicates 3.0 VOLTS to 5.5 VOLTS while the manufacturer says: "...it will give you great performance between 2V-8V". Perhaps a typo or the third party review is just "wrong"; OR, the manufacturer is "wrong". It's confusing me AGAIN. :)

Info found here at third party site: Eleaf iStick from Canvape

The manufacturer says: " Under the support of the 2200mAh battery capacity, it will give you great performance between 2V-8V or 5W-30W." Found here: https://www.eleafus.com/istick-30w.html Again - not being truthful seems foolish on their part.

I don't usually get THIS confused. Maybe I'll have 'nursie' stand me in a corner where I can't reach the keyboard. If I don't stop I fear the ECF Hit-Squad will be dispatched to my location and stop me once and for all! :) :) Nooooooooo! I'll STOP NOW!

It does seem foolish, doesn't it -- the reason you're confused is you're either talking about a newer product or linking to a site that's repeating marketing data, or isn't testing what we're talking about. Again, the istick 20W can *say* it's firing at 3V yet actually be putting out 4V. It can *say* it's firing at 9W yet actually dumping out 16W.

The iSticks 20w and lower have the issue I was talking about, and their website said the same thing it does now. If you go pick up an iStick 20w today, it'll do exactly what I said. It's well documented in the links I gave in that post -- watch the youtube of it being checked on a scope, and you'll see that yes, Eleaf just wasn't upfront in their marketing.

They just started shipping out a new 30w version that is much more accurate, and a 50w version which reportedly also fixes the issues is available for preorder.

I'm going to let Hectic or someone else explain how wires and coils work because it's lunch time. ;)

Now he tells me that the 30 W is fine, AFTER I bought the big, fat workhorse :) I may have to push that shopping trolley not just through fasttech's alleys.
I am a very curious person who likes to understand what goes on in her life and unfortunately there is no single store, where I can go and try out all these different devices and there fore I will shop until I have found the perfect set up for me. Somebody has got to keep the economy going and some lucky people will receive some lovely second hand gear!

So far I have an Aerotank Mow Mega (quite like it) an Aorotank mini (so far my favorite) and a Delta 19. The later had too much Airflow for me but I have put it aside for when my taste buds have recovered and I have a Nautilus Mini with BCC on its way to me. I just have to try these out.

We are also have a rough time with out Teenage son right now, who is in a rather weird relationship. All this research on vaping, the chats here and testing equipment keeps my mind of matters and me focused and strong to be there for him. So don't knock me for my current shopping habit, it is all for a good cause :) I do get over these things.

If you wanna try out new gear, buy second hand on the classifieds, then if you don't like it you can post it back up if you don't like it with minimal loss :)
