So wait, is the battery compartment too tight or are the burrs from the vent holes causing the issue?

Just take a file to the vent holes from the inside.

Both! I don't want to alter or damage it and void the warranty or my ability to return it.

I think it's the burrs more than the compartment. If you're getting another silver chances are...

As long as everything else works fine I'd file it instead of dealing and waiting for exchange.

I also had the same problem where every atomizer with different builds in them gave me the same reading. Try to turn it off and back on. That seemed to work for me.
According to the vaping Biker's review the optimum build should be around .25. Anything above would give you a weak vaping experience. He also said that a lower .17 build similarly gave him poor vape. Apparently, .25 is a sweet spot for this mod.
Makes no sense unless he's referring to the optimal build for the stock RDA.

Really kind of defeats the purpose of having 160 watt range if you have to build one build....

I just don't understand how one person can get a product and be totally satisfied while another purchases the exact same product and it is junk. I can't imagine the colors are produced on individual lines. It is crap shoot with these things. I purchased an Asmodus minikin and the board went bad on it after the warranty expired. I could not find a single other person with the problem.

Back on topic my 160w is reading ohms accurately. This is not the case with my Kanger Kbox. It varies but is close. It is also working with all the attys I have thrown on it. All with different builds ranging from 1 ohm down to .3 ohms.

:thumb:

Yeah... If I buy some Inexpensive Clone where the Shipping/Hassle of returning it within 10 bucks of it's Value, then I am Fearless about Modding it to make it work.

But on something like this where things could go from Bad (Returnable) to Worse (Non-Returnable), I think waiting for an RMA Number might be the Better Call.

This review says the battery problem is only with the silver ones, about the 11:00 mark. I recall a review I can't locate where they widened the battery compartment a bit by using pliers to "widen" the battery compartment from the inside.
fyi - THIS IS the same review that mentions widening the battery compartment with pliers. ;)

Question for all - I have never rewrapped a battery. Now, that I have two brand new batteries with shaved off wraps, I need help. What's a good place to purchase wraps and how do I wrap?

Some options for wraps:
RTD vapor - Search Results for "battery wrap"
Search results for: 'battery wrap'

FastTech is also an option. Since you have an immediate need, one of the above will get to you pretty quickly; you can then lay in a supply from FT for ongoing use. I've found that the FT wraps are of equal quality to the ones carried by US vendors. Ebay is also an option.

Lots of videos out there on technique. It's pretty simple. Here's a link to a pictorial description:

I've bought Pre-Cut wraps from this company and they worked Very Well. Shipped Fast and Cheap also.

Battwrap, PVC Battery Wrap

If you have a Decent Hair Blow Dryer, it isn't hard to Re-Wrap them. But getting the Exact length of the Wrap right might take a few Tries.

Illumn has wraps and a hair dryer will work but for $10 harbor freight has a great heat gun 2 speeds, have had mine for over a year and makes rewrapping a breeze. Very simple process and trim about an 1/8 inch off wrap to get right length.

I am talking about only kanthal builds. Three different attys. When i slap them on my sigelei and a meter they read .4 .5 and .7 but on the 160 all i get is .3 and at the same wattage of 30 the vape is very weak and i have to crank it up to 50 to get about the same.

If someone else can slap some different kanthal builds on theirs then we can see if it is just a few out there with the problem.

It may work just fine in temp control but i have any way to check

I've not had that problem with mine and have used quite a few builds. Did you clear the prior resistance reading on the 160 by pressing the fire button with no atty attached (it will read 9.99 and flash) before attaching? Even when not in TC mode Kanger boards tend to not read a new atty at times unless you press the fire button without any atty attached.

If you need them wrapped immediately, some vape shops will wrap them for free, if it is a safety hazard. Some shops where I live wrap for free if they are hazards, some do it very cheaply, the closest shop to me wraps them for a quarter each. I keep meaning to get some wraps and learn, but that Vape Shop is right next to my neighborhood grocery store, which makes it real convenient.
