So Kanger has recently released two new clearomizer/tanks and they are both fantastic!
The EVOD is the reworked T3 and there are a ton of smart things about the new design.
Not so long ago when I was trying to move into serious vaping I was looking at clearomizers. They seemed the next logical step. The mini Nova and T3 were the obvious choices. I only say 'obvious' as people seem to like the mini Nova for some reason I can't fathom. But back then, I came across reports of a thing known as the Kanger T3 mini. They were few and far between, but people lauded these things. I found some resellers sold out of said item and eventually went with T3/MT3's and mini Nova's.
To those that complain about leaking with T3's, THIS is the clearomizer for you. What I believe is happening for folks is that they are letting their T3's sit around when they are 1/3rd full or less. The lack of weight in the remaining juice and the local pressure in the tank causes the juice to start to 'leak' (you get a juice bubble at contact point). Then you get gurgling, bad hits, low vape, etc. This is well documented and the solution is generally: Don't let your T3's get that low and if they do clean it and refill and there is no issue! The EVOD has a couple solutions to this.
1.) It IS the fabled Kanger T3 Mini, yet it is not simply a stockier version of the T3. While a T3 can be filled to around 3.0ML, it starts to lose functionality around 1.5-1.0ML of fluid. What the EVOD does is shrink the tank size to something a little above 2 ML and design the atty to sit higher up in the tank. I'm pretty sure you would get zero hit with this design before it started to leak. At the same time you have 1-1.5 ML of usable liquid in a tank.
2.) Despite the substantial shrink in size, it actually holds close to what a T3/MT3 holds. I think in an effort to accentuate this point...they made the drip tip clear. I don't actually like the clear drip tip aside from it's superior shape, but it makes it's point I suppose. It's a better shape than what is on the T3/MT3.
3.) For people that change vapes alot, the EVOD is a godsend. They are cheap, and the new system cuts atty costs in half.
4.) Despite matching or being technically better in some regards, the things look way slicker than a comparably priced T3/MT3. Cheaper to replace attys, and tank size has reduced risk of gurgle leaks. You can actually see the atty inside the EVOD. This is the best thing on the market for someone looking for an EGO clearomizer.
Edit:
5.) There is no need to remove wicking. A lot of people have experienced the issue of low vape/flavor with T3's and the common solution is to remove a wick. The EVODs do not have this issue. They work as is. A slight caveat though, check these things when you get them as both my attys in my EVODs weren't screwed in, they were just jossling around in the empty tanks when I unpacked them. Might wanna open those suckers up and tighten down the attys before you excitedly start pouring juice in there...
