I should have just bought something different, but until I can afford to do so I have to figure out this Kanger subox Nano. I am getting dry hits with 70% vg. even at a low 20 watts. I love the clouds of vapor with higher vg, but kanger doesn't seem to be able to handle it. Other places I've read that some people do use 70% vg. In my experience so far, I can't make 70vg work. Anyone else have a preference for vg% with kanger subox'x?

I have the subtank mini. I found that their factory coils are packed super tight with the japanese cotton. Here's what to do...Not only do you have to prime the coils, but they have to be broken in as well. To prime: drop some juice onto the cotton within the coil from the top. Let it set in and keep doing this until you see that the juice holes are saturated. Fill the tank, then put the tank on. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.
To break in the coil: Primer pull some for a bit without firing. Then start at a low wattage selection. Do more primer pulls but this time fire it a few times in succession as you are puffing on it. Let the vape produced escape from your mouth. Don't inhale at this point. It'll be gross. Gradually ramp up the wattage and do the same style of puffs. Once you get to the wattage you are comfortable with, yet again do some primer pulls before you give it an honest hit. You can inhale it now and it should be good to go.
The whole process should take 20 minutes to a half hour. Yes it'll waste some juice but your coil will last longer in the end.

By doing this I was able to run MAX VG with no problems.

Also worth mentioning: Some of kanger's coils are bogus from the start. They are hit or miss. I've tossed a coil after a day of vaping it as I would only get dry hits after that first day. Get the RBA (if it fits the nano). It'll save you money on buying new coils.

I did all of these suggestions except wait 10 minutes. I think the coil I'm using is burnt and needs replaced. I'm using 70vg peanut butter crunch, which is really tasty when it fires right. I'll do another coil and primes the hell out of it. I'll let ya know. Thanks for the advice and for letting me know you CAN vape high VG with these kangers. (Cant RBA with Nano, I still want a better bigger unit. Next on my list)

If you are going for a bigger unit, I highly suggest the Uwell Crown tank. It is extremely impressive for vape production and taste. I have not used my subtank mini since getting it...and I loved my subtank mini (using the RBA head). If having an RBA is important to you, Uwell sells the RBA for the crown seperately. The coils on the crown last 3-4 weeks from what I have heard. I'm only on week 1. Note: The crown requires a higher wattage mod to truly get the best vape/flavour production. I'm running the 0.5 ohm stainless steel dual coil at 45-50 watts. The 0.25 ohm coil fires up to 120 watts!

Well I started a new coil yesterday. Great hits for several hours. Thought I was on my way to at least a week's worth of excellent vaping. But started to get burnt taste again. I even poked a small hole in the two round sides of the exposed cotton and kind of loosened the cotton up with a needle. I find that I have to use reduced power, like 20-21 watts and prime with every hit. What I'll do next is buy 50/50 juices and save up for a better mod. I can only judge the kanger by the way I like to vape, which is a lot, and constantly. If you're a one hitter and not big on clouds of vapor produced by VG, it's a great intro to sub ohm. I just feel I need more. ;)

Maxwell ... Your using 20-21 watts of power to your Kanger OCC coil. You must be using the 0.5 ohm coil?

I have a Subtank Nano with the 1.2 ohm OCC coil in it .... I vape it at only 13 watts. Never had a dry hit. I use 40% PG / 60% VG juice.

****** Of course, I do mouth to lung vaping, and vape using a pretty restrictive airflow.

Yeah, it's .5 ohm coils. Maybe I should try 1.2 eh? It came with a 1.5. The whole idea was to sub ohm though.
