Kanger Pro-tank II problem

Looking for a little help with an issue I'm having.

I have a WOOTube e-cig, and it's been great for me.

I started using KANGER MT3 tanks with 2.5Ohm resistor coils. This worked very well for a setup, but I started having problems with the atomizers leaking regularly.

I decided to switch to a Kanger protank II because it came very highly recommended as a rebuildable unit, easy to fill and clean, and they don't have the same leaking problem as the smaller, simpler T3. I bought the same 2.5ohm coils, but they see to be burning the atomizers immediately. At least that is my diagnosis, since I had the same taste and smell when I tried to use a 1.8ohm T3 tank and atomizer head.

Is this a problem anyone has had before? Do I just need to let the coil break in? (I have tried a second coil, no change.)

Any info anyone has will help, since I have only had this tank for I dunno 5 effing minutes lol.

If you are using 50/50 or thicker (higher VG), you need to pull at least 1 of the flavor wicks out under the coil. Check YouTube for the how-to. I have the ProTank1 and absolutely NO ISSUES but I use 70/30. I do give the tank a few minutes for the wicks to absorb up some fluid but then puff puff away.

I dont know what a whoot is, but it sounds like your putting too much power to it. I wouldnt go over 4.0 volts on a 2.5 ohm coil, and actually, I really wouldnt go more than 3.7 volts.

Taking one of the flavor wicks out wont do a thing except mess up the vape/airflow etc unless your juice is extreamly thick. I would let the juice soak for a couple of minutes though.

I really think your burning the wicks with 4.0 volts. Ive gone through too many of those coils and figured this out. I have 8 protanks and a bunch of coils. I actually prefer the 1.8 ohm and vape them at about 3.3 to 3.5 for longevity and to keep from burning the wicks. I do a bit of rebuilding too. My two cents anyway....Good luck to you.

Yes! I have been really stoked on it (switched from e-go upgrade). But then I bought this tank and it is making me very angry...
Okay man. I have a Woo mod. That's actually 8.4 volts, and is regulated down to 5 volts. I use 3 to 4 ohm coils with it. I'm afraid that the juice is being scorched at 2.5 ohm. Also that stock coil wire is very thin.

Well that is a relief. I'm surprised I didn't have this problem with the other atomizer heads I was using for the last couple of months. Also the guys I bought the thing from said use 2.5 for a good vape hit with the T3 tank. Looks like I'm express shipping some 3.5 ohm coils lol.

Thanks Jimi!

Your welcome man. I bet the 3.5 ohm coils will work fantastic :)

I just got my Kanger Protank 2 the other day. Installed everything and did get a really nasty plastic/ burnt taste. I actually fixed this temporarily realizing that the driptip is lined with this black dirty residue. I suggest trying a different drip tip, or cleaning the one that comes with your PT2. I'll let you know if the burnt taste comes back but I heard it has something to do with the rubber grommet resting on the head. Some people have removed flavor wicks but do as you please.
