Thank you, thank you, thank you! I didn't have any plastic at hand (at work), so I took the cardboard from the back of a pad of paper and...presto! 6.5 watts on a VAMO V2 is perfect.

Even though I am happy with the draw on my Protanks I sooo have to try this, especially when I get my Vamos, want to be sure I don't overtighten and this should do the trick!

I get no bacon noise from my protank... I get no noise at all. Are you guys ripping thr thing like your life depends on it or something?

Sounds odd, I just find it quite loud, compared to ye olde Vivi Novas :)
Not "ripping it" hard at all, gentle inhale at about 7 Watts most of the time.
Had it leak a bit on the battery connector tonight - don't know if it was due to me vaping it down to the point where you can't see anymore juice in the glass, or the fact that I used it out in the cold, or both though.

Well thanks everyone for the responses! I guess the conclusion from this is that it's all about the individual experience.

I tried it again all day today and was slightly more impressed with flavor after blocking one of the holes, getting a metallic taste still so will give it a good boil and wash tomorrow to see if I can to it from that.

Orders a few evod tanks and spare attys yesterday so will try it with an evod coil tomoz to see if u can get better flavor.

Happier with it today than I was yesterday. Think ill persevere with it for now and hopefully 'learn to love it'

If I make any breakthroughs I'll post update here :)

i would assume both, i top mine off or empty it whenever it falls below a quarter full otherwise i get gurgly/dry hits, but i still have never had a leaking problem except when i tried to alter the airflow once.

I'm intrigued by this thread because this is what we are planning for our next big purchase. My main desire for wanting one is because everyone raves about the fact it provides more flavor. I'm definitely going to keep an eye on this thread because you seem to be getting some great advice.

As I mentioned, for me the flavour and throat hit is muted but I hope this will improve with some tweaking.

I'll report more once I have had a play around tomorrow.

Really want to like this as constantly refilling other tanks/clears when out at work is doing my head in!

It's just stuff like this that gets to me, you know?
I don't want to have to worry about topping it off before it runs below quarter full, and while topping off, having to worry about drops of eliquid coming from the air tube. And worrying about whether it's a cold day, before using it outside, because it'll flood if I do.
A top coil clearo, with design like the Protank, now that would be perfection - to me.
It's all personal preference, of course.

I hated mine at first and was pretty ticked I'd spent so much on 2 of them and a pack of replacement heads. I blocked 2 of the 3 air holes, the tiny ones, with some stuff from work (others wouldn't have access to) and I love them now. I use a twist battery at 4.4v, get great flavor and TH. I'm using some 70/30 and 80/20 juice and both are doing fine. There is some noise, but I like a little sizzle.. The jb weld stuff sounds like a good fix if you can use it in those tiny holes. I did have some slight leakage this week but after cleaning/dry burn today, and fishing out a loose piece of that stuff it's not leaking. Just my :2c:.. Good thread.

in my experience, allowing a top coil clearo run low has even worse repurcussion than letting the protank run low. i have had no problem allowing mine run below a quarter tank, it just has become a ritual for me to refill at a quarter tank. i also have had no problems using it in cold weather, and i live up in minnesnowta (we just had a snowstorm and its currently 33 degrees in april!). im sorry you have been having these issues and maybe they will clear up in the future. if not, thats why there is such a huge variety of devices out there!

Hehe, don't be sorry, it's not your fault :D
I don't get it, I simply don't. Using it outside in the cold Danish winter times (not shielding it from the cold in any way), and then taking it back indoors, it would flood on me. You've never experienced something like that?
And yes, running a top coil low, can cause dry hits, no doubt. But not if you do the tilt'n'whirl. Of course that's a matter of habit too.
Maybe it's just me having trouble adapting to bottom coil clearos in general :p

yea whenever i switch back to top coils i absolutely hate that i have to do the "tilt n whirl" lol. it took like a week for me to finally adjust to my protank, but now i think every other tanks draw isnt airy enough, or has too tight of a draw, or gets dry hits too easily etc. try giving yourself more time to adjust, its definetly a big change.
strangely enough, i havent had any of the temperature problems, and i really dont know why. maybe im just lucky and got the only flawless protank out there :D

Sounds like a skillet full of bacon. :D

wow I'm not getting that on the 3 I own, I sat down last night and re-coiled a bunch of heads and I noticed that it tighten the draw a bit but after the open draw of a lot of genesis atties I own the draw doesn't bother me
