I have 3 Protanks. At first I was also not overly enthusiastic either, but since using the toothpick method with 2 of the 3 holes in the base I am satisfied with them. Haven't had time to re-wick with cotton or cheese cloth yet, but if I have the same results as I did with MT3's, I will be very pleased with them.

Hey guys, I decided to try some of the advice I've seen on here (except tossing it into the trash).

I didn't want a solution that looked rigged, so I got a piece of binder paper, lined up the skirt to the punched hole in the paper, traced it, cut the paper circle, and used it as a gasket between the coil and the skirt.

I went from Protank hater to fan in two nips! The paper gasket got rid if the airiness and the noise, and I can actually taste my beloved cinnamon. Not bad for a $0 fix, and you can't see the paper gasket, so I didn't lose the clean look of the tank.

Can it compete with my Kanger T2? Well...I can vape cinnamon with the Protank, and I like its durability, but I'll have to get back to you on whether it really lures me away from the T2. I don't have to do arts & crafts with the T2 to make it work, although I'm dang proud of my ingenuity.

'Scuse me while I pat myself on the back over here.

Every since I started using the eVod heads for my protanks, it improved the flavor and removed most of the "airyness." I don't tighten them because if you do that, you won't be able to get any vapor. I got 4 of these tanks plus an STV Vivi on my provari mini in my rotation. Side note: i love this provari...should have gotten this thing when i first started vaping...

I just got mine today.
Very airy draw, I didn't remove the top wick at first but got a few bad hits so then I took off the top one wick
No working great, with great flavour.
Only been using it an hour or so, so I will know more in a few days, I hope I like it as I have 2 more coming in the post and I just sold one of my iClear 30s to a friend..lol..

am I the only one who actually loves the protank?

I'm getting great flavor, its not as much as my RBA but it does its job for sure.

It's always reliable, no tipping, no dry hits.

I personally don't mind the airy draw that everyone complains about. For 15$ I gotta say its well worth it.

The top of mine just popped off without warning. Seems the adhesive they used to hold the top on isn't the best or I got a defective one. A little gorilla glue fixed it right up though. But be careful picking it up by the drip tip

Thanks for the tip on Gorilla glue, I have a Leaker, Just a bit between the tip and glass, I was wondering what glue I would use to fix it, wanted something clear... was thinking about jewelry glue, just have to figure out how to get it in the crevice without leaving a lump of glue showing.... this was a first production tank and my vendor offered to replace it, but as I said earlier in this thread, it's a member of the family now and I can't let it go...

Have six Protanks, two more on the way, they are my husbands and my favorite vape. They take a little getting used to and their own particular fiddly business, (as ALL eCig products do), but they fit our lifestyle and we love them.

Am going to try the gasket thingy just for kicks, great thread!

So if I do find the 1.8's in stock should I get them as opposed to the 2.5's? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each? 100% VG juice on a Variable power Sigelei.
There's no reason to get 1.8 if you have a variable voltage mod...1.8 is for 3.8v or lower... you can always rebuild the heads yourself to whatever specs you like..
