I still don't understand why he has such a good rating on ebay. That's why I ordered. Wondering if I should trash it and just order from temco.
This video here should be the definitive tutorial in rebuilding a coil,it is for a vivi nova but the Kanger is identical.I do everything here except using a screw,I use the end of a blunt syringe instead. He talks about the yarn and what kind,But it is peaches and cream #4 yarn (white kind)Which I think is unbleached and can be purchased I believe anywhere but I get it at walmart, and I boil mine for 30 min and let dry.It is nice wicks because you cut a piece and pull 4 small strands from it and use the 4, But you can learn from the vid so please check it out.
100 percent feedback over 400 reviews. Crickey.
Anyways going to order this and be done with it..
Kanthal Wire 32 Gauge RW0098 - 250 FT 0.62oz Series A-1 Resistance AWG
That's the good one right?
Tank probably has all those positive eBay ratings for same reason I gave him a good rating ... Good emails acknowledging sale and shipment, shipped immediately, and in a couple days had it in my hand. You just don't realize till later about the length, and like ya said, it's not an investment. For the same price, I've been served bad lunches too
I agree, flat wire does seem to be the future for RBAs. Not too sure for rebuilding these little heads on Protanks and vivas though, there's not much room in the barrel for 5 wraps if one wants a 2 ohm coil, seems a flat wire may touch the sides being wider. will probably need a different size than 32gauge equivalent and do less wraps.
Everyone trusts temco, so I ordered 200 feet from them for 11.70 from their Ebay store. Win!
Can you tell me what their Ebay nickname is or the link to the one you ordered?
Update on the replacement silicone grommets from kidneypuncher:
I got the silicone grommets in, tried one on my Protank, the little ridge on the bottom is a bit too wide so I had to trim it with fingernail clippers to the right size .. then it fit and is working great! The nice thing is it's not the white flimsy type grommet that came with the Protank heads, it's a better, thicker silicone, almost clear in color but a frosted color, like the clear-frosted kind that is used in O-rings. If you don't mind trimming the bottom edge these work great and so far I haven't had any burning with the one I'm testing.
Curious here - are you simply using 1 piece of 3mm silica, no extra/flavor wicks added on top of it?

I separate the 3mm and use two of the small pieces as flavor wicks. I think it'll flood if I don't.
You might want to put those 2 separated pieces into the coil instead of as a flavor wick .. to make it closer to 3.5mm. I get no flooding and no leaking, as long as I use a little over 3mm as my wick. I have a big supply of the 2mm wick, so I use my 2mm .. I use one piece of the 2mm and then separate another piece into 6 strands and add 3 of those to the 2mm .. so my wick actually ends up a little over 3mm. By not using a flavor wick and by increasing the mm of the wick in the coil it increased my flavor by 100% and I haven't had a single leak.
