My boss plopped one of these bad boys on my desk this afternoon at work. He apparently bought two and gave me one as a late Christmas present. Quick rinse got rid of any hint of machine oil (There was a little bit), primed it up, loaded it and fired it onto my sigelei 100W. I can't argue, this thing is awesome and doesn't look ridiculous on this particular box mod. Threads are flawless on mine, even the glass was nicely done and has no hidden razor edges on it. Tonight rocking the 0.5ohm coil at 30w for now (I'm going to play with some wattage settings) and the flavour is pretty impressive. Better than the friends Atlantis I have tried even when it was 35 or 40w.

I'm really liking the Sub Tank so far. The RBA not so much!:glare: I also noticed that the ohm readings I get with the 0.5 coil are more like 0.6 - 0.7? The side of the RBA is a PITA to un screw when rebuilding it.:( It also just doesn't seem to wick my "heavy juice 90% VG" well at all? I think the holes in the bottom of the RBA are too small? With the 0.5 coil it vapes well. I just wish I could get the RBA to work as well? 002.jpg

I used the RBA deck for a while, but ended up pulling it out in favor of the stock coils. Main complaint is the reduced airflow, something it looks like Kanger improved on the 22mm version from the reviews I've seen.

Got the occasional dry hit with high VG juice, although going to a wider coil might have helped with that. Would have kept working on it if it wasn't for the restricted airflow.

No Joy, Leaks like a sieve with the pre-built coil. Checked the bottom washer to ensure it was installed correctly, it was. Looks to be leaking past the coil.
Decided to try to RBA deck to see if it leaked. They applied lock-tight to the top cap screws. One came out, the other didn't.
Broke the mini-screwdriver trying to get it out.

Perhaps one day I'll bother with a drill, drill it out, and try the RBA, right now it's all back in the box. The biggest POS I've bought to date.

Maybe you got a bad one, shouldn't it be still under warante and exchange it?

I saw people having issues with the first subtank, I haven't had any issues with my Subtank Mini, my guess is that Kanger sent the first tanks out as soon as they got them from manufacturers without cleaning to get them out asap.

As far as high VG liquids go, I use nearly 100%vg liquids in mine with the stock coils and rba head and get occasional dryhit-ish hit, which is most likely caused by the cold weather here causing the liquid I use to change viscosity and 'thickening' the liquid. I do plan on enlargening the rba liquid feed holes to get rid of all traces of dryhits. But most dryhits on the rba head is caused by either faulty wicking or too thick liquids or a combination of both of those.

I would love to see someone try the Subtank Mini RBA head on the regular 25mm Subtank, I would try it myself but I don't own a 25mm Subtank nor do I plan getting it, I'm more than pleased with the 22mm Subtank Mini.

I bought the Mini Subtank and I'm extremely disappointed with this tank. The taste of machine oil is horrible in the one that I have. First I tried to get the oil taste out with dish soap and a good scrubbing and that didn't even phase it. Then I soaked it in Vodka twice overnight and gave it a good cleaning both times and this thing still taste like machine oil! It not as bad when I vape a strong fruit flavor but I'm a big Custard fan and the machine oil taste is way too overbearing to vape my favorite Custard. I don't like the drip tip either. To me its way too big around and I don't like the fact that 510 drip tips don't fit tightly. The vape that this thing produces is also way too hot in my opinion. I've only used the stock coils so I cant speak for the RBA deck but the reason I bought this tank is to use the stock coils. Mine's headed for the shoebox of no return to join all the protanks that I also hated. I do on the other hand like the Aerotanks very much but I was hoping that the Subtank would give me that added punch and flavor without having to rebuild. That sure hasn't been the case, for me anyway.

What strength nicotine are you all using. I saw one of the review videos on U-tube where they said they could not use over 6ml or it was too strong. Anyone else having that problem?

I have been vaping awhile now and have bought just about every type of tank & RBA available! I figure it has become my hobby so spending a few bucks til I have an arsenal at my disposal is fine - better than paying thousand for analogues!

But I have found that with nicotine two things have become apparent. The first is that the longer you let your juice steep (especially if you add your own nic) the less you notice that characteristic "peppery" taste at anything 12mg or higher. The second is that drippers and rebuildables not only give better juice flavour, they seem to enhance the "peppery" taste of the nicotine.

I have found that I still get the best vape off both the Atlantis and Kanger Sub Tank 0.5 ohm prebuilt coils! I use the Nautilus's every now and then when I feel like mouth to lung, but my daily vape is the Kanger and Atlantis sub ohm's on either my eLeaf 50W or Skyline M6 mechanical mod.

No matter what I try or how I set up the build, coils and wicking material (I have settled on Nichrome and Cotton Bacon as my favourites combo) I just cannot seem to get a vape as pleasurable as the Atlantis or Sub Tank Mini with prebuilt coils.

Does anybody have the same experience with regard to the nicotine taste problem and their drippers/rebuildables?

It is a crying shame as I have several rebuildables, both drippers and tank models, which I hardly use as the nicotine taste keeps coming through over the top of the juice and makes a wonderful experience just tolerable.

I got one of these for my iStick 30W just to see what the big deal is about sub-ohm'ing. Normally I'm using my Nautilus Mini and CE5 clearos. So I got the tank and did get a whiff of machine oil, so immediately soaked in vodka/water solution and rinsed. Got rid of the smell. I also purchased some high VG juice and sat down to try this mutha out. Well...as quite a few have said, the mouthpiece got so hot I couldn't take it. Thought my lips were gonna get burned. Went back to the vape shop and got a nice acrylic drip tip that fit great. OK, let's try again. I failed to mention earlier that I had to crank my iStick up to 10W just to get it to start vape production. Still pretty hot on the mouthpiece and the vape was still hot as well. So I slowly increased the wattage and the next thing I know the atty shorted out, which was the 1.2. Hmmmm, OK, let's try the .5 and see what happens. Had to crank that up to 14 watts to get vape production...OMG, like the KISS album it was Hotter Than Hell!!! I tried lowering the wattage to a more tolerable level but vape production was so low it just didn't seem worth it.

I've tried some customer mods and vape shop display models and they also burn really hot for my liking. To each his own I say, I'm sticking with my Nautilus and CE5's. I'll gift the Kanger to a friend; it's just not for me.
