Hey there.I posted yesterday about what to buy ect...And i decided on going with a kit it's the kanger topbox mini kit,

So i get it home the coil that was already in the tank itself said NI so i'm assuming thats for the temp control,(Not sure if it can be used in variable wattage or not?) so I took that coil out and put a clapton coil in that also came in the box, now heres my problems. there was also a coil that said SS on it and of course the RBA.

On my device itself the clapton coil shows up as 0.33ohms the volts are at 0 untell i press the firing buttom. Is that normal?
BUT when i put the tank on my e leaf i stick 40wTC it shows up as 0.62 ohms.

I primed the coil let it sit for half hour or so,and tried to use it i started on 17watts then went up to 20watts and the thing spit out molten lava on my tongue so its tingly right now.

So what coil should i be using for the wattage mode,?

thanks for reading.

First of all I don't own a Topbox mini But I have a Subtank mini which I believe is close! The difference in ohms could be caused by a dirty 510 on your Istick! Did you get the lava on the topbox or the Istick! Look at the coil & see if you can tell what ohms it's supposed to run at from what I can tell it should be a .5 ohm coil so you probably have some connection issues where the positive on the coil meets the positive pin on the base or where the positive meets the 510! Try putting the positive pin on a hard surface & with the coil installed push the pieces together to ensure they are making good contact! Also make sure the 510 is clean & moving (spring loaded) properly! After looking at the coils I realized that your set-up is the same as my STM & this usually worked for me!:headbang:

ya i dont know both seem clean the spitting out was on the new kanger set up..

I also noticed that when i take the tank off and putt it back on it reads 9.99 then asks if this is a new coil i say no, sometimes yes and then it reads 0.33ohms.

Aswell on the tank itself the pin on the bottom is flush with the threads,Compared to my naut mini wiht a coil in its pushed out a bit.

Well i did a bit of tightening and its now reading 0.56ohm and ya it supposed to be a 0.5. I also tried the other 2 coils and the rba those showed up close to what there supposed to be.I also made it up to 24 watts and my tongue isnt getting 3rd degree burned, but it does seem to gurgle a bit.

Yes it is normal for it to read 0 until you press the fire button.
The center pin on the Mini does not stick out much.
I have not used the Kanger Claptons, but more power may reduce the spitting.
If you have the 75, it should also support SSTC coils.
Did you see what the resistance read on the 2 with a different coil?

+1 on turning it up! resistance looks good now! time to dial in your vape!

I just got one of these. Couldn't get it to work in TC mode with the Ni200 or the SS, put in the Clapton and set it to VW mode at 30W and it seemed to work fine for a while but by the afternoon the resistance went from 0.6 to 1.31 and the vapour was HOT. Even earlier when the resistance was at 0.6, after a couple of seconds firing I could feel the heat coming up with the vapour. I have logged a ticket with the company I purchased it from to see if they can find out what is going on, will wait and see.

I previously used the Aspire Nautilus with the eLeaf 30W and it still runs alright but was looking for a better device. Admittedly I only use the old device at around 11W, not sure if the new device is faulty or if it is something I am doing wrong.

Yes Ni is only for temp and someone correct me if I'm wrong but I heard SSOCC are just SS plated Nichrome, It says so on the box of coils but not the coil itself?

I'd say something is definitely wrong here. That's an entire ohm this shot up. I'm no expert but I don't think that's normal.

Whatever you do never fire that NI200 in wattage mode though.

You're correct. The SS in SSOCC just means a stainless steel housing. The coils however can be either Nichrome (Red gasket) Clapton Kanthal (Black gasket) Ni200 Nickle (Blue Gasket) or Stainless Steel (Pink Gasket) and now... the Ceramic coils which have Kanthal A1 wire are the (Grey gasket). The ceramic coils were just added so that's why you don't see them mentioned in the chart below.

By gasket, I am talking about the rubber seal on the bottom of the coils themselves. This is also the main culprit of the leaking everyone has been talking about since the subtank was released imo. I've never had a single leak out of my subtank or toptank ever in the six months I've been using these. I will admit I don't take my Kbox's out of the house and they have never been in my pocket either so maybe that's why.

It's all explained here:

Anyhow with the introduction of the CL and Protank 4 there a a few new variations. If you go to http://kangertech.com/ and click on "Specification" on the top of the page and then click coils... everything is explained there. For some reason I can't post the URL link as it just shows kangertech's homepage as the url?

Hopefully this clears things up with the coils.
