Hey guys, I purchased a Kanger Toptank mini kit and the juice is dripping right through the middle of the coil down into the chamber and through the air holes.

I watched a video on YouTube last night which instructs to pop the bottom of the coil off below the red rubber ring and push the protruding wire inside and pop the cap back on. This initially worked and my tank sat overnight with no leaks but this morning after taking a few pulls the juice is coming out the holes again and I'm afraid to keep it in my pocket.

Anyone know how to resolve this? I can't believe how defective these coils are. I have checked and then are genuine Kanger! I'm just pissing away my juice and making a mess, so frustrating.

I can't really help except say this I was having this prob aswell then i went to the RBA and started building on there.
That fixed my trouble but took about 2 weeks to get the wicking down and help from these ECF guys/gals.
now im at the point were every 2 days i change the wick to get the best flavour again and im having no troubles so far .... ( knock on wood).

I'd start by taking a long pin and trying to "fluff" up the cotton by poking some holes in it and moving it around, some of the stock coils are too tight. Look at the holes in the sleeve around the coil and be sure there are no small gaps that the wick isn't touching the inside of the metal sleeve, you can push the wick from the inside from the back again with a pin, this works best with a juiced but new wick. The best solution is to ditch the stock heads and start rebuilding(can even rebuild the stock heads with or without removing the coil). My subtanks and TFV4's haven't leaked a drop but getting the wick to behave is a learning curve.

Kanger tanks can be fiddly & sensitive to how tight you install the head.
Too tight will deform the seal where the head & base mate = leaking.
Excessively tight can also damage the base where it will always leak, no matter how many heads you try.
Too loose and the liquid bypasses the seal.
They also seem to have an occasional problem with an o ring from the head sticking in the base. When this happens liquid will drain out of the tank flooding the airflow chamber rather quickly.

The rba section can also have the too tight too loose sticking o ring problems.

Some folks struggle with this some don't, just the luck of the draw with rapidly mass produced low QC products.

FYI I am using the square 1.5 OHM coils. I tried the 0.2 OHM coil yesterday and there was no leaking

Geez. you should probably just to start using the new coils if they're working. I have a feeling they didn't make it with older coils in mind. I'm using the new ones and for once have had zero leaking with a Kanger tank.....I'm almost hesitant to say it out loud.

The new coils are pretty nice anyway. I think that's your easiest fix at the moment. They're in stock at VapeNW and SweetVapes, and probably others by now as well.

The 0.2 OHM I used came with the kit. I've new round 1.2 OHMs on the way but still working through a pack of the old ones

Older Square - New SSOCC
Both have the same threaded shaft and Seal surface. Changes are above the attachment point and possibly the Center pin(air flow)

Proper seal is critical, period. Otherwise they will leak.
@Topwater Elvis covered all the bases. It is generally left to user capabilities and understanding.

I use Kanger Subtanks. I had a lot of problems with leaking. After I refill, I turn it upside down, and with paper towel wrapped loosely around the air holes, I blow excess liquid out. (blowing through the drip tip) Then I hold it right side up and close off the air holes with my fingers and draw on it pretty hard. Usually an air bubble with come up. I have no idea if it's true, but supposedly it creates the vacuum needed. It seems to work for me. They used to leak like crazy and now they don't. It's worth a try! :)

No matter what I do the piece of .... coils keep leaking. If I put a new one in, it will not leak for a day or 2 but then it starts pouring out the air holes again. I'm starting to regret buying this tank, I have to leave it in the house or it will leak in my pocket if I take it outside

By new one, do you mean it's leaking with one of those new coils? Or is it leaking with the older square ones still?

Still running the square ones, new ones are taking their time being shipped from West Coast to East Coast

Ah bummer. Well on the plus side, it really does seem leak free with these new ones, but that sucks that the old ones aren't working with it. Btw, even the SSOCC smaller ones (that came with nebox) also seem leak free when I use them. So it may just be the square ones.

Thanks man, i'll not be getting the old square ones again. I've had Kanger tanks in the past and you don't expect them to leak so I never researched before buying square coils.

The bottom o ring is the issue for me. Everyone said it couldn't be that but nothing else was fixing the problem. Got new o rings and leaking stopped coming from air holes for a week then started again. Placed a double wrap of dental floss around underneath the oring then placed the oring overtop and have not had any more leaking or oozing from the air holes. Easy fix that has me 100% happy with my topbox again.
