Did you wet the cotton with a few drops of juice before using, then let the coil soak at least half an hour in the tank before vaping?

If not, remove the cotton, you burnt that, add new cotton and dampen then soak. may get one or two burnt hits but, coil itself should clean up quickly.
The coil isn't burnt, i juiced it then let it sit for 15 min before i even tried to vape it. it just tastes wrong, like chemicals or something else. it makes me legit ill using it, could it be cause i have to much cotton?

Might be the juice. If it's a new flavor or brand that happens sometimes. May also just need to adjust wattage and/or temp for that juice.

Juice may be new and need to steep for a week or two to be good, might have alcohol and need to breathe overnight or for up to 3 days.
I have used the juice in the coils that came with the top tank is its perfect there, its just in the rda section that it tastes nasty

Do you have other cotton you can try? Or maybe build another coil? I use the RBA section on my Toptank all the time without issues. Has to be either the cotton material, wicking, or the coil that's the problem.

I never used the included coil and cotton that comes with the kit itself, so don't know how good the materials are.

This is my firt
Also, did you make sure the coil was burning evenly? You want to see a glow from the inside out to avoid hot spots that can also make vaping unpleasant.
inside and out, i know kinda how to build it its just the flavour thats throwing me off, and this is my first time ever doing something where i have to wick and build.

Those can be a bit tricky to wick, but once you get it, it's a great vape. I watched a couple YouTube videos to learn the right way to wick those and have it down pretty good now. Maybe that will help? I can't think of anything else that could be wrong aside from wicking as you know about coils and hot spots.

I found the cotton that comes in the toptank 'kit' horrid, no matter what I did, it tasted bad.
I tried the pre built coils that come with it too, always gave an odd off taste, Toss them both & use known quality wire & wicking.
The toptank rba is very good IMO, easy to get the hang of.

Hi Naitsirk
From what you've said it dosen't sound as though the cotton is burning. I think Topwater Elvis is correct in suggesting it is the cotton itself and to try some new cotton. In fact try rayon cotton (cellulose). Most of us who've switched seem to like it a lot better than even Japanese organic cotton. I know if I vape cotton it no longer tastes right to me either though that bad taste will go away in a little while. I just find the rayon wicks better, tastes cleaner than cotton, and is not quite so prone to dry hits.

It's probably crappy cotton, or it's been contaminated with finger oils or something else. Cotton is dirt cheap - if you've any females in the vicinity, ask if you can take a little bit of some of their facial cleansing pads if they have any that are made of organic cotton (even common shop-bought cotton balls will do).

Just make sure that you take some from the middle of the pile, so that they won't have been exposed to hairspray or perfume or whatever.

Also, did you thoroughly wash the RBA before you tried to use it - sometimes vape components can have traces of cutting oil or whatever on them from the factory - a quick wash with hot water and some dish soap should get it clean.

Don't give up on the tank and it's RBA - you can get really good results from it if you do it right.

Don't think that all you problems will magically go away just by buying an RDA - if you wick that with nasty cotton, it will also taste like .....
