Yes, the bell caps replace the whole glass/metal tank and the metal chimney part. only thing you use from the original STM is the base and either an OCC coil or the RBA Plus.
Either the 37.5 or 38mm work on the STM, because that measurement is just the height of the cap. Those are both nearly identical in height to the glass tank...from what I read on discussions and reviews of them posted on FT.
That's what I just spent the last hour or so doing for a variety of them!
Do you know anything bad about either of those I posted? The single clear one has 390 reviews! Didn't real ALL of them though.

Haven't gotten any of the bell caps for the sub tanks yet,(only have gotten bell caps for the kayfuns) ....I too was looking at them today at ft......must be thinking alike.....That's what I just spent the last hour or so doing for a variety of them!

May I ask... What is the RBA Plus? Included in my trade for the STM I'm told that I'm receiving 2 V2 RBAs and 5 V1 RBAs. Are there even more versions?
The original rba's for the subtank had no air holes like we now see,(large and small both). The air holes for the original ones are curved into the cap at the bottom and this cap screws on unlike the ones out now that have that little screw to unscrew to be able to pull the cap off to rebuild, recoil.
Tip: do not unscrew that little screw all the way off,it is a pita to get back on. Just unscrew it enough to be able to get the cap off.

I made that mistake the other day, you're not kidding. Those tiny screws are very difficult to handle, especially if you have long nails!

I don't see why not.....the size is the same. Same base for both....There should not be problems with a bell cap. Why do you think they won't fit?

Thanx. Since I'll have both RBAs I'm covered either way. If I should decide to pickup more bases and bell caps. Sounds like a more cost effective way to go than buying full authentics? Sounds good!

I bought a whole pile of the authentic bases, authentic RBA's and bellcaps from FT. The bellcaps work great and been using them for eons now, my wife uses the glass tanks. I don't plan on finding a different all day atty since the subtank mini's work so well for my wife's and my vaping needs. Ever since I began using rayon in my builds the subtanks perform just dandy. I read the reviews on the clone RBA's and within a few posts...they are junk.
Dont forget to get the colored subtank orings. I use the colors so I know what wire is in what atty Blue for nickle, Red for SS and the black for kanthal are how I arranged the colors.
