In your opinion, does it vape better as stock coil, rba, or rebuilding the coil itself?

Personally, I keep going back and forth. I feel the RBA gives off better flavor, all things being equal, but the vape with the OCC is noticeably smoother and a bit more airy (both being wide open), which probably accounts for the slightly muted flavor, only just slightly though. I would give the edge to the OCC, and over the weekend I am going to give NR-R-NR coils a shot in the OCC since with standard rebuilds in the OCC I have seen scorching on the insulators.

w/occ it is what it is, no adjustments unless u rebuild and/or rewick and a possibilty of getting a bad batch.
rba can be anything u want, more or less air, coil setup, wick material and edensity, etc. but that means a never ending testing.
i now know why people in general buy rta's like kayfuns and alike and for the stmini its an easy refill/air adjustment rta w/the rba section.

I LOVE this tank, but man does it drink the juice fast!!
Has anyone done a serious comparison of juice consumption between the .5 and the 1.2 ohm coils? Been mainly using the .5, and .8ohm could I built(26g 6 wraps, works AWESOME), but if I can save juice would be willing to go up in ohms on the ones I build. Thanks in advance for any info!

I would never keep buying the OCC heads, if I can't rebuild them then I won't use them. I like the RBA, it works well, but I really like the smooth draw the OCC's offer (stock and rebuilt), as well as it being slightly airier. It would be great to see a PEEK insulator in place of that rubber one the OCC comes with. It would only need grooves for the wire to work properly, but that will never happen.

Just a guesstimate but with the OCC coils, I'd say my juice consumption is roughly doubled with the .5 ohm vs 1.2 ohm. Higher wattage contributes as well.

I'm not sure why, I have the stock DT on my mini and it never gets hot, it barely even warms up on everything from .4-1.5ohm, 18-27w.
How hard are you guys pushing the subtank to get a hot DT?

I am not vaping at very high wattage, between 20 and 25 watts, but I am probably vaping close to chain vaping.

I don't have the mini or the RBA deck so I can only comment on the coils, but I think they are fantastic so far. Only day 2 of using them, but the flavor is great and lots of dense vapor. This thing guzzles up juice like crazy too! I want to get the mini to rebuild on, but I'm wondering if I'd even want to since the stock coils are so nice. All of my rebuilds just never seem to hit as good as a good coil, it's probably my own fault but even when trying to rebuild or rewick a stock coil, I end up with wicking problems and dry hits and just not quite the same as a brand new stock coil. But its nice having the option of going "Ok screw this crappy build!" and slapping a new coil in the tank and back to vaping again.

That being said, does anyone know if there is word on whether or not they will have a RBA option for the nano? And where is the cheapest place to pick up a subtank Mini at this point? I see them for about $35 most places, wondering if there is a better price somewhere? Otherwise, I guess I'm okay with just the nano for now... and maybe wait for a price drop.

Damn!.....126 pages of SubTank Mini posts here in only a month and a half.....WOW!. OK......I need a little help here. I received my Kanger SubTank Mini, a couple of days ago. I usually use 18mg juice in a Kanger AeroMega (1.8ohm coil), on an iStick, @ about 11.5 - 12 watts. I tried using my normal 18mg juice, and adjusted my iStick 30w to about 18-19 watts (to get about the same voltage that I'm used to with the AeroMega).
I primed the coil, cleaned the tank, and put the 1.2ohm coil in it. The 18mg juice WAS killing me!....Way too strong. I put my wife's 6mg juice in it. It's better, but even a short drag is bothering my throat, and making me cough. The crazy thing......the vapor production is awful. I'm wondering if I just have a bad coil.....or is this tank just really not for me? SUCKS!......Cuz' I really had high hopes for this tank.....after reading all the positive reviews about it. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. EDIT....( I currently don't have any other 1.2 ohm coils to try, and I think that the .5 ohm coil that came with it, would not be what I'm looking to vape at ).

I am not vaping at very high wattage, between 20 and 25 watts, but I am probably vaping close to chain vaping.

I bought Delrin drip tips from MVS......... I believe this is where I got them...Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette | myvaporstore

Great rec's from MVS Inspects. Two in particular I'd recommend...

TT Elite Bronze 510 Drip Tip - Short
(A Stingray clone, bronze but draw and temp is exceptional.)
Vitreous 510 Drip Tip - Type B (A clone too yet if the really thick glass one of the smoothest vapes I've found.)

The type B is rare (5mm air hole), type A more common (7mm) found at vape shops. I don't care for glass thinner than these two. Too easy to break.

Rourke, I jotted a few notes on draw here earlier...Up the vacuum, swap out tips...

You might want to do an advanced search for "tips" to see if there are others.

From my post I'd rec the 2puffs as a great compromise on draw. All delrins tend to dry out the vapes, where ss and brass in that order are more neutral, the latter a tad cooler. Glass the absolute best to slightly cool and mellow the vape.

I'm a collector of clones and original tips. A dozen this week I'm almost embarrassed to admit. But it is for a worthwhile cause as I research how to control and enhance vapor output in rebuilding. No diffusion required here as there's plenty of that. If anything you want to slightly concentrate the vape and mellow it a smidgen. Unless you prefer dry. Oddly as I try to get better density out of the Subtanks I like the counterpoint of delrin on these.

Good luck R. (Try tensioned microcoils.)

:)

$33 for an authentic at FT

Think I beat ya to it G...Want more "sticky"? While supplies last! (No waiting from FastDrek.)

G'luck.
