If you notice, it says it's powered by the SX350 mini board. The mini board has the different layout that includes the Joules display as well as adding the 3 different power settings.

The SX350 board is limited to just the "gravity sense" menu. The display is also different.

No biggie, just thought I'd point that out, I'm sure they each use the same regulator chip...

Exactly, no biggie. Thanks for the clarity. I guess leaving out "mini" caused confusion.

I thought all I was referring to was the chip, not the board. I know nothing about this anyway except it works like a charm. :}

It is tan. Definitely not clear.

If you're getting a bad taste on tan insulators it would be concerning to quite a few people here.
If you haven't already you might want to do a complete tear down and wash everything thoroughly, including a tear down of the rba to make sure the insulators aren't burnt or damaged.

Use a new wick and clean juice and let us know if it's still poopy.

If they are Kanger should replace them under warranty but it may be easier to just buy new ones.
Kanger sells them for 99 cents plus shipping which should cost less than $5 in the end.

I finally got my STmini yesterday. Been struggling with the 0.5 ohm coil since the beginning, started with machine oil, then continuous dry hits due to my max vg juice. Thought to myself i would never give up on this awesome tank. A couple of minutes ago while contemplating the OCC coil through the STmini glass, something jumped to my head, something i read here i guess, where else would i read it, lol!! I took off the base with the coil on it and grabbed a needle, poked the wick and puched the needle all the way through the coil to the other side. Now i took an even bigger needle and went through the smaller hole previously tunneling the very dense wick going through the coil, and BAM!!! NO more dry hits chain vaping at 26watts, and moreover, the flavor suddenly got better. Just thought i should share for those struggling with the 0.5 ohm OCC and dry hits, with high VG juices.

EDIT: Now i remember, i read that in the comments on a rewicking tutorial for the OCC heads.

Right guys, ive got a leak on my Subtank Mini coming from above the airflow ring, but not the tank - ive stripped and rebuilt the whole thing and changed all the red O-Rings for the black spares included in the box, ive tried the OCC coils and the RBA deck and it still happens. Its quite annoying having it seep all over the mod and messing up my pockets too, so i think i read somewhere if you close the airflow off completely and suck you shouldnt be able to pull, like every other atty with adjustable airflow, i can still get air into it, but from where i have no idea at all. There has to be some sort of oring in the airflow part thats gone but cant take it apart to see, so im at a loss as to what else it could be, any ideas?

Just did a tear down. I tore the deck apart and looked at the insulator. It does not appear tarnished or melted. I washed the deck, took out my coil, built a new coil and rewicked it. Still getting a funky taste.

The only other possibility would be the o-rings on the glass. But I am not sure how they could affect the taste.

Just to rule it out, because it's happened to me...
Have you ever noticed how some foods or even forgetting to brush will effect your vape for a while?
I've had it happen and had to do a thorough tear down and cleaning of my mouth to get things working right again..

as far as the o-rings, I believe they are silicone and shouldn't be the issue unless they are breaking down or burnt.. maybe something in the drip tip or air flow chamber, or maybe something in the air?

Just throwing this stuff out there as possible because I don't want it to be the insulators or anything else in the ST causing bad taste..

It could be. I am just gonna wait a while and try it again tomorrow and see if it persists.

The good news is that my freshly built Kayfun tastes like garbage too. So I guess we can rule out the STM for now. I see a couple of possibilities though:

1) My cotton is corrupted

2) My wire is corrupted.

3) My juice turned bad overnight.

4) I am getting sick.

There is a sick person in my household, but I have no symptoms at all. I don't know, this is a mystery.

Ok V, to check the upper tank assembly for leaks remove the driptip and base, turn the tank upside and fill it with water up to the air tube opening (almost full). It shouldn't leak a drop overnight. Because you tried both the occ and rba and still leaked it's probably not the either of those but check the base for metal machining debris where those screw in and seal. If all is good there and the upper tank assembly isn't leaking all that's left is the bottom tank seal or a cracked glass tube. Good luck.

with the airflow closed off on my mini i can still ever so slightly pull as well, there is a ton of resistance, but you can hear the air coming in
can anyone else chime in with how theirs does?
edit: on further inspection the airflow ring does kinda look like it has a slight gap, so perhaps it does allow a bit of air in, but the tank itself should still be sealed afaik

afc ring does let some air in when fully closed, next would be at drip tip hole, if u seal afc off w/hands and cover top part of tank w/mouth when sucking it should be fully sealed or very close to it, mind u its very hard to wrap hands around afc ring to fully seal it.
u can try wrapping afc ring w/some plastic but if u suck hard enough air will probably get by the red orings anyways.
i could try duct tape to seal afc ring to test but no im not.

That's how I get mine primed, plug AFC with finger and suck through drip tip, then look for bubbles. Mine leaks some air when doing so also!

Someone here asked if I would post some pics of my chunky wicking technique. Forget who. Thing is, I haven't needed to rewick yet after 75ml!!!! Showing only minimal signs of gunking. Vapor production is still around 80-85%. Flavor is unchanged. Juice is Ragnarok "Thor" 50/50.

How many mils (not days or weeks please) are you all getting from your wicking stategies?

that looks like the wick I built last night...
2.8mm id coil @ 1 ohm wicked fat with a 9mm wide strip of KGD, rolled on the pants leg and pulled it through, no tail thinning at all and cut straight off.. should have taken pics... vaping like a champ today, flavor is the best I've had from a mustache wick :D same as I'm getting from the vertical build in my other RBA...

Vapor production is good, no dry hits, juicy vape, tastes like I'm drinking juice from my vaporstick..

I haven't givin up on vertical coils, I have 2 RBA's so I guess I can do both :D
Waiting on another STMini from a co-op and 5 more RBA heads :D !!Options!!

Finally got a decent nickel coil built after many bad builds. Used a dremel tool to open up the juice channels fully. Used a #8-32 screw to wrap 6 wraps of twisted 30g. Did a modified pancake wicking. Instead of leaving in the pancake style I folded it down a little.

Been working good since yesterday and only hit temp protection twice.
