I have had my STM for two full days now and am on my 6th tank of juice. In the less than a year that I have been vaping I been thru a lot of gear, clearomizer, RBA's, RTA. RDA's, and I must say the STM is to me the best one I have tried yet. I never liked lung hits which is why RDA's was never a thrill for me but with the STM it is as natural as breathing to me. I still like my Kayfuns and Lemo's but I doubt if I will ever buy another one. The Orchids or ok but I know for a fact I will never buy another one of them. The kanger STM is just perfect in my opinion.

On my second day this thing is stunning I like you have tried pretty much everything and this thing is a home run. Still pretty shocked and waiting for something to go wrong the coils not last long, flood, dry hit or something but so far so good the flavor is phenomenal

Anyone know if/where I can get the latest version rba for the stm/st plus? And... what about the new verticle coils?

The new vertical OCC and side-fed RBA have not been released yet. Their debut will be with the new SubTank Mini/Nano along with the Subox.

All right, this is coming from a brand-new coil builder, so don't expect anything fancy. I've just gotta brag on my first coil! 26 gauge kanthal, 6 wraps, 3mm id. Came out to .92 ohm on my meter, my MVP 3 reads it as 1.0.

The day I got this I watched a Rip Tripper video on the Kanger Sub Tank mini and he said he was on his 10th tank for the supplied OCC coil and it was still producing great. I am on tank #7 and still has great flavor and chucking lots of clouds. He also has a video for rebuilding the OCC coils but with the RBA deck why bother.

I can't get but 2 days out of the occasion heads. Gonna hit the rba up and give that a try. When they are good they are good but it giving lots of dry hits.

Im surprised aecs, I am running the .5 ohm coil that was in mine when I bought it. The only dry hit I had so far is when I ran the tank totally dry. I am on tank #8 and its vaping great. Mostly I am vaping 70/30 in it and have ran 2 tanks with 80/20 juice. The cotton is looking a bit dark but the coil doesnt look gunked up yet. I vape mine at 20 watts. From what I heard the .5 can run up to 40 watts and the 1.2 ohm coil you dont want to go above 30 watts. What is the ohms of the coil your running and at what wattage are you vaping it at?

It seems that QC on the OCC stuff is lax, and for the price...
I tried both the .5 and 1.2 for the first day or two, then dived in to the RBA (my first time, after vaping for only 2 weeks) because I was really disappointed in the OCC. The RBA seems to be very forgiving, as long as you make sure you have plenty of wick. I now have 4 STMs, and do not see any reason to bother with anything else. A 100 ft spool of 26g kanthal+ about 2 years worth of KGD wick cost about $15. And, it is really easy to make acceptable coils/wicks; advanced coiling only makes it better.

Oh no not another QC issue with coil heads... they are working like a charm for me so far not gonna be happy if I start getting duds

Am I the only one concerned that Kanger may have ruined the Mini's RBA head?
Nope, I think that the screw is a wrong move. Not only does it look unprofessional but it means one must have access to a screwdriver when out and about if you use this tank exclusively (like I now do) in case your wick died, where as before it was just a matter of unscrewing it with your hands and popping in a new piece of cotton.

If I had to find one gripe about my ST Mini it would currently be that the air flow adjustment ring is way too damn hard to change positions. It will unscrew the atomizer off the mod before it adjusts to the next setting (assuming you spin it in the left-unscrew direction) but... That's pretty much only a gripe if I HAD to find one, as for me it sits on the full open slot 99% of the time anyway.

I've had a few Mini's for 2 weeks now. Bought the first one, liked it so much and bought another 2. Probably should have waited a few days before ordering the next 2 ;).

As a MTL vaper I've found these a learning curve. I've come from Nauti Mini's and PT3's so it's a big change for me. For me it works best on the smallest air flow setting.

Vaper production is great and flavor is brilliant in comparison to the other tanks I've been using. Device dependent, anywhere between 15-20 watts on the .5 coils is the top end of the heat of the vape I can take.

That said, he's where my problem start. After about 2 days of use it starts to leak through the air flow holes. Not sure if it's using the smallest air flow setting of not. Opening it up to the largest setting reduces the leaking but not altogether gone. Made sure the coil is tight etc etc.

I've pulled the first tank apart, changed the rubber rings and have thrown in a 1.2 coil to see if that makes a difference. Next few days will tell.

I've ordered some more rings and bases but they're in the mail and will take about a fortnight to arrive.

Other than having to refill this thing more than the others if I could stop the leaking this thing would take the cake for me.

On a side note I also have the Delta 2 tank. Seems I got a double whammy with this one. After two washes still couldn't get the metallic taste out of this thing. Figured stuff it, I'll load it up with a tank of juice and that will get rid of it. Damned if I didn't get a perfumed coil. Sucked it up, literally, until the tank was empty, washed again, soaked in vodka for 24 hours and then washed again. So tonight I'll load up a coil from a new box and pray no perfumed taste.

It's the .5 could and running it at 15 to 18 watts. Might have just got a bad batch. But at 5 bucks a pop that's alot

I found it odd, I never liked a hot vape and my Kayfuns and Lemo's I run at 10 - 13 watts but the Kanger STM I run at 20 watts and find it perfect. Hate to hear your coils are giving you problems. I plan on starting to use the RBA deck as soon as the coil I am using finally quits (tank 9 and still going strong) but plan on picking up a couple .5 coils for emergencies. Thats just another pro for the kanger STM in my opinion.

I dont take Rip as an authority over all authorities. I actually get irritated at his delivery at times. Kinda too much over the top. Yet when he rebuilds a coil right there and shows you exactly how to do it, it doesnt matter which sponsor he favors, the information is good to know. What irked me is I didnt know how to fill the tank when I bought it and his video was the first to pop up when I did a youtube search on it. The instruction pamplet that came with the STM left a lot to be desired.

It took everything in me not to go back the next day and pick up a couple more STM's but I am actually to the point I have too much vaping gear. With 9 regulated mods and 2 Tesla Invader unregulated modes in from of me all with an RTA's on them, plus another kayfun V4 and a fogger in the mail, I just cant justify it until next week lol
But your right, the flavor is phenomenal compared to other RTA's. My kayfun lites are a joke of an RTA compared to the kanger STM. Before getting the Kanger they was great in my opinion. Kanger has raised the bar on all of them and now they pale in comparison to the STM in my opinion.

With 6 regulated mods (a kick counts, right?), 13 unregulated mods, 2 hybrids, 1 squonker, 3 VV EVODs, 15 distinctly different RTAs, 7 clearomizers, and 6 drippers, I can relate. I love the STM, but I have made myself a promise not to duplicate gear until I have one of everything :)

I also agree about the criticism Rip Trippers is getting. I don't care if he's sponsored as long as the info he presents is good. I just wish he were a little less intense.
