Has anyone else looked into this new alloy that Kanthal developed?

I compared the details on their datasheets, and it seems like it's pretty similar to A1, except that it looks like it would be more resilient when hot, which is when [my] coils tend to give out.

Has anyone tried this wire / Thoughts?

Reading: you're doing it wrong.

Look at the 'creep strength' and 'mechanical properties at elevated temperature' section. the tensile strength above 1100ºC is twice that of A1. Now granted I'm no metallurgist, but that suggests to me that the coils will be considerably less prone to breaking when they're at temperature, which is when I do my prodding / adjustment on SS Mesh wicks.
