Kanthal or Nichrome wire

Which do you use? I started with Nichrome and never switched or tried Kanthal wonder about everyone else...

I did the exact opposite and was considering buying some nichrome wire.

They both work. Kanthal has a higher thermal profile so is more robust. I personally only use kanthal.

Had nichrome, then kanthal. I won't bother going back to nichrome as I feel kanthal is much better.

I read til blue in face a came up with A-1 Kanthal as a little better choice

I am interested in this too. To me, it's more than what is cheaper, it's what is the healthier choice.

Has anyone run any basic tests between the vapor of Kanthal D vs. Kanthal A vs. Nichrome to see what, if any, metals are present and in what proportions? I would think that would be an interesting test.
