hi guys, just some help needed. when buying kanthal it comes is sizes 28G, 30G, 32 G etc

is it the thinner the wire the higher the resistance? example 28G = 1ohm and 32G = 0.5ohm bear in mind this is just an example

Most use 28. But depends on the device you are putting it on .

That would depend on the diameter of the wick. 4 wraps of 27g wire on an 1/8'' dia. wick gets me around .84 ohms & 4 wraps of 30G on an 1/8'' wick get me around 1.2 ohms.
The higher the gauge# the thinner the wire & the higher the resistance ( 32g will give you a higher ohm reading than 28G per length of wire)

thanks guys, got the z-atty clone from fasttech today, still learning, have heard that many say its a bad rebuildable atomizer. im still trying to get a decent coil built. im using a vamo v2 so i cant go lower than 1.3ohm

edit: didn't read every thing and someone already posted the same thing as me

I wrap micro coils on a 1/16 drill bit, 10 or 11 wraps of 28 gauge get me about 1.4 ohms
6 to 7 wraps of 32 gauge get me about the same maybe a little higher

ok i was doing about 5 maybe 6 wraps on ss mesh and got about 2.0. was using 30.
