Anyone mind posting some working set up's for your KFL+? Using cotton prefer. I am having such a hard time getting this thing to wick right. Is it normal to have to do dry pulls after every 5-6 pulls? I don't think so, may be wrong. have built 1.0 coils all the way up to the current 1.7 and still getting dry hits occasionally. Driving me mad, never had any issues on any attys or drippers like this.

There is a thread in the Rebuildable' section on setups that "work". Sorry, but I forgot how to link.
Or, you can put this out in the main thread and someone should be able to help.

I have currently dissasembled my KFC, and put the liquid in a bottle that had some other remnants, so now I am vaping
a lovely concoction of CB, CLS and Frenilla. I would guess the ratio is probably something like 5/15/80 in a new born age. It is rather good. I am imagining that this is closer to how things are when properly aged.

I am leaning towards rebuilding the KFC (kayfun lite) with the ekowool, just because I haven't tried it yet. I wll see if I come up with some god links for you, Silense. Wicking and dry hits were one of the issues that I didn't have. I ran cotton, cut so it terminated on the first ledge without blocking the channels. On my device (black KFC 3.1 +), with the air flow adjust on bottom, you can blow gently into the drip tip. This will juice up your wick, and you see a little dribble come out the side air intake.

Decided to dedicate a tank and a carto to Radioactive for testing purposes...

Radioactive, BOGE510SR Carto, Prive tanked... I haven't touched a carto for anything in months, but I am getting more vanilla out of this carto than I am in the dripper. I actually dig it!

(I let the carto steep overnight, no filler taste which is a nice bonus!)

What is your favorite setup for taste/flavor -modes it vary with the juices? Hmmmm, would it be that bottom dripper, squonkee thing? Inquiring minds want to know :D
Maybe I will just get lazy and ultimately copy your rig(s)

I haven't had any issues with mine. Todd's Kayfun Review may help you out.

Pro-tip... unscrew the top cap after filling until a bubble rises to the top... it will release the pressure and relieve you of most of those dry hits (if you don't do it already)

I thought that breaking the seal on the Kayfun would stop the suction that is created and cause leaking?

Course thats just what I found on the internet, I have the Hcigar clone the 3.1 and no matter how I fill it I always have leaks in the airhole.

As for builds on it I have always used cotton as a wick. I make the coil using a 3/32" drill bit with *insert #* wraps of 28 gauge kanthal. My favorite is about 1.3 ohms. Single cotton wick trimmed to about 1/4" above the cup, then push each end down towards the channels but not touching them.

It works great and I never get dry hits, just the opposite it will flood if tipped on its side. If I keep it vertical it won't leak at all. I have been keeping it at home and only use it there to avoid carrying it around and spilling joose everywhere. Would love to get the leak figured out but just can't seem to get it...

My cotton is down in the channels and the excess lays at the bottom touching.

I've laid mine down & left it that way overnight to see if it would leak. It didn't.

When I get a chance I'm going to check my Youtube history to find the build vid I watched that does it this way.

Found this in a kayfun thread, just tried and works really really well, just did the new wick this way :vapor:

Here's my latest wicking method, pretty much self explanatory.
1.5mm 12 wrap 28g a Nichrome…1.3ohm, The Nichrome has a little less resistance than Kanthal, requiring 12 wraps vs 8 with Kanthal to reach the same 1.2-1.3 rating, I wanted a little more coil surface area, we'll see how it performs when fully broken in…so far so good though.

Nailz, I saw that as well. I am trying it next. I finally do have a good set up right now, but going to re-coil after the tank is done... Can't waste that beetleguise. Currently on a 1.7 Coil of 28ga and I want to lower resistance to about 1.2. -1.3. I want to eventually try to get my kayfun in sub ohms, but I hear it's very hard to wick right with low ohms, having hard enough time as it is with 1+. I finally don't regret buying a KFL + now too (authentic). Tough to go to rba's imo when I been dripping so long on dual coil rda's at about .5-.6. Just a different vape that's all. I do love the KFL + as it doesn't leak at all for me on the bus etc...

Wow Nailz, that wick is simple but genius! I just rewicked mine, on my third build and while this one has the best vapor of the three it has the least flavor for some reason. Wrapped the coil you mentioned with kanthal and made sure I didn't have any hotspots, came out at 1.15ohms. Last two builds were up at 1.6 and 1.7 which is leading me to believe that this coil is cooking the flavor out of my juice. Wicks fine, no dry hits and no flooding, just no flavor.

    Any ideas?

I'm far from a expert, but could be your ohms being low on the coil, my build is with a 1.6ohm micro coil, so I would try another coil and get it between 1.5ohms and 2.0ohms.
