It's been a bit hit and miss for me. I had a 1.7 coil going that was working pretty damn well, but i wanted to get ohms to about 1.3. So I recoiled it up, and still getting dry hits occasionally. I have tried the wicking method on page 1, as well as just very simple builds, all work pretty well.... Just not perfect yet. The trick is getting the right amount of cotton, which I am having a hard time doing. And once i install wick/coil i throw the Virus or Bettleguise in there and refuse to empty the tank to rewick it. So I just burn thru the tank and try again hoping to find that sweet spot for me.

I finally figured out my problem btw... My coil was too far off the deck.... I feel like a idiot for not Realizing it. Makes perfect sense I wasn't getting enough power to wick. Thing is hitting like a dream with a. 1.4 microcoil and beetleguise. Finally not regretting buying this thing

Me to I found 1.3 to low to much crackling and popin I,m at 1.7 now works perfect :)

I have found that a higher ohm coil works best in the kayfun. I have 1.8ohm micro in mine right now and the flavor is outstanding. Vapor is outstanding as well although I have never been one to try and fog up a room.

yeah, height off the deck is an issue, I try for no more than 2mm to be honest on the coil... aside from that, for me, the sweet spot is still about 18->2.0 ohms... in a dripper, I take them quite a bit lower. The coil hieght was something I learned from my REO though, you want it at a certain "height" for optimal vape, so I at least had that going into building the Kayfun.

Apologies for not even thinking of that for ya!

I'm in a different camp than most of you, I like a standard micro coil around 0.8-1.0 in my KFL+. Nice warm vape with tons of flavor. My cotton sits in/on the juice channels and wicks directly from them, rather than needing enough juice in there to reach them mashed up against the deck. Never had a dry hit. Not once, even with high vg juice. To each their own I guess.

S45 I did pretty much same thing. Cotton touching juice channel. I was so afraid to do it because everyone always saying don't block it. Figured id have nothing to lose lol

I'm not sure it's "don't touch it" as much as it is "don't pack the cotton in there" - hitting the KFL+ w/ 1.1ohm vertical microcoil and "cotton around the outside" - 3.7 volts on the Provari, seems to be hitting "okay" - flavor is decent, warm vape, still not a cloud machine but so'k.

These aren't cloud machines, they're flavor machines :D

I finally got my Kayfun vaping great without any leaking! I took my last build apart and was very careful once I got to the chamber. Once I could see in there I found out that I was using a bit too much cotton and it was touching the airhole. With the cotton touching the airhole it was allowing juice to run down inside and fill the overflow area in the base.

So I built a new coil and placed it just under 2mm from the airhole, used less cotton and was extra careful when placing the ends down towards the channels. I then added some juice and made sure the cotton was in the proper place and not touching anywhere near the airhole. I then put the rest of it together and filled it with juice from the top, started vaping and the flavor and clouds were great. I then tipped it sideways, upside down, and everyway inbetween, YIPEE no leaking!!

I have been vaping with it now for almost a week with CLS and it has been great, I can now carry my mod in my hoody pocket at work and not worry about spilling juice everywhere.

I am loving my Kayfun now more than ever, and considering buying a 2nd one.

Hey Bimini, noticed your handle right away ;-). Not catchin' anything here in New England in the dead of winter...lol. Striper and blues in the summer. How about yourself?

Nailz, just eptied my tank and rewicked using your methed and working well. Thank you for the step by step pics! Still not getting great flavor, must be the coil being too low and I'm gonna have to rewrap at 1.5-1.7. I think this 1.1 just cooks flavor off maybe.

I run mine right at 1 ohm so I don't think the resistance is your issue. When I have flavor problems its usually my coil height. I've found 1.5 to 2 mm above the airhole to be the sweet spot.

Ok I'm not sleepy so I think I may redo my KFL now while I'm awake.
I haven't gotten any flavor or vapor from it but I just noticed something in Hectics pic as far as cotton.
I don't see his draped on the sides like I've seen in so many videos.

Off to use less cotton.....
