Kayfun Coil Infinite???

I've had my kayfun (mounted on a SID by Smoktech) for about 3 weeks now.

*I searched and found info, but none that TRULY answered my question!*

How long until I have to change the coil? IMO, IF EVER. It seems like the coil can last forever, as long as every time I change wicks (EVERY REFILL), I rinse and dry burn all the gunk off. I've got a nicely wrapped coil in there that hasn't budged and looks clean as the day I put it in. After my "cleaning routine" atleast.

So that's the question.... Do I just run the coil until it dies or when's the appropriate time to change it out? Remember I love where the resistance is and I change wicks EVERY TIME I fill the tank.

On another note, This is the best atty EVER, I absolutely love it!!! The flavors it puts out are amazing. When inhaling and blowing out, it's like a THICK, WARM, WET vapor that just makes the tastebuds go crazy! Everything I've put in it taste amazing, my favorite being Mothers Milk or Vanilla Cupcake.... Yuuuuummmmm :)

Thanks for ANY help!

Welcome to the wonderful world of rebuildables :)

Over time, the coil will start to degrade. Resistance will start to creep up. That's when you want to make a new one.

How long? No really good way to tell on that. Depends on several factors, size kanthal, power settings... Months wouldn't surprise me. Or until you want to try a different geometry coil.

So, there really isn't a hard and fast "rule" for it's life. Yup, wicks may need to be changed, but as long as you don't damage the coil getting the old one out...

If you build a good coil, and do the cleaning and dry-burning, I have found that I will get bored and want to build again before the coil ever goes bad. They will eventually go out, but I have yet to have one decline in function on me.

Months and Months.......
As long as you continue your cleaning routine, it should last for many months. I have heard of coils lasting 6 months, they do eventually get brittle from the heating and cooling of the metal.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the info. I kind of figured it was up to me, in a sense.

Here's another question, because I don't want to make another thread! Lol

Is there a mod out there that's like the SID (in size - because the kayfun looks good on it!) that puts out more Voltage/Wattage? Reason I ask is because I've got this SID cranked up to the MAX 6 VOLTS on a 1.5/6 ohm coil (about 9 wraps of 28 gauge kanthal)... I would like to get something that'll "raise the roof"!
