Happy to be on the journey with you, philoshop! tanks are the best, dripper flavor without the hassle!

Roxynoodle, thanks for that link - I've been cruising that thread all morning looking for info on the T7.

I'll let you guys know how the adventure turns out. I'll probably do more thinking out loud in the meantime, stay tuned!

I think I'm the only participant on that thread who has a T7 :). I'm not sure who else owns one either here. A friend bought one the same day I did, but he doesn't like dual coils and it just kept flooding when he tried to build it single coil.

I do like mine a lot. The build quality was surprisingly excellent. The deck is very innovative, and different, which was my attraction.

Hey roxy, jut caught your Rose v2 build guide in the sticky/master tank thread (pg 58).

You wick your vertical coil the same way that I just started wicking my Ithakas. I used to wrap the coil before mounting, but it is a real pain to keep the rayon (my wick of choice for everything) from slipping under or over the coil which blocks airflow. Even though I kept a bit/mandrel in the coil to mount, slippage would sometimes still occur when placing the main feeder wicks. I went to just the main wicks and 2 little rolled up balls of wick to fill in the gaps. I prefer a 1/16" ID coil for the most flavor in the Ithaka, I think the key in that relationship is to match the coil diameter to your airhole diameter.

Here I was, thinking I was all innovative and smart...

(Not really, I thought I was just being lazy - which would be entirely accurate.)

I"m sold on the Kayfun line. I've used the EHPro Kayfun 3 for a year or so and I bought the Tobecco Kayfun 4 about 6 weeks ago. The K4 is definitely a juice burner and a vapor producer compared to the K3. Learning to build it is something that you master after a couple of coil replacements and juice fills.

If it's hot, the juice can expand and flood the wick, especially if you have a damaged o-ring that allows pressure leaks. As someone said uptopic, sitting in the sun can cause that. If the o-rings are good, then it's fine. I set mine upright most of the time and avoid laying it down for long periods. Leave an air bubble in the tank when you fill to prevent hydro lock that can cause dry hits due to an inability to allow juice to flow to the wick when there's no air bubble to decompress and allow juice to exit.
