Hi,

I have a few kayfun Lites (all identical), but one of them consistently gets a burned taste. I can give it a few primer pumps and the problem resolves for a short time, but then comes back. It is not specific to any eliquid.

All my other Kayfuns are fine and they are all built the same. Is there something I should check on this one, odd unit?

Thanks!

If it's the plus model, then tightening AFC a little should cause a slightly tighter draw which in turn should pull a little more juice up the vertical channels without as much need for priming. If that doesn't fix it you may have burnt material embedded in the wick itself which is tainting the flavour - a fresh wick should solve it. As the old pros say when wicking with cotton - less is more: Less wick means less likelihood of obstructing those juice channels. In my experience, the same goes for silica too. The wick should barely touch the 'shoulders' of the build deck. After you have screwed the chimney base on you should *just* be able to see top of the exposed vertical juice channels

Dry hits are more about not wicking than to much wick, though both will cause the issue. Best to study from both angles.

Wick always needs to be just snug enough to slip through the coil with slight resistance, but not enough to cause gathering(bunching up).
Wick should be trimmed to the width of the Base, Tips wet with e-liquid and tucked to the Deck against the raised section.

I Never tuck wicks into the Chimney and prefer knowing they are set properly before installing Chimney and cap.
