I had it going at a really good flavor, it was unbelieveable. That lasted about 2 hours, so I had a guy at a vape shop rebuild it. He followed a youtube video and it was exactly what Todd did. But the flavor seems so muted, with a hint of carto flavor lol. It is the same juice as before too. My wick isnt pushed down to far into the chamber, I don't know why it's happening. But any advice? 4 wrap 30 guage 2mm silica wick.

Did you wrap the wick with out using a tooth pick or paper clip something for a spacer? If you get the wire to tight on the wick you get a hint of wick taste.
The Kayfun is finicky I think it is a awesome flavor producing cloud blowing atty or its a flooding dry hitting cuss word cuss word piecs of cuss word;-)

I would say tear it down and try rebuilding it using a paper clip in your coil wrap. Just keep going at it doing it different each try you will get the magic combination and its great. just a little less wick or a little more, coil is to tight to much wick in the juice well, not enough wick in the juice well. Air flow controller set to tight and flooding air flow to oped and to airy. It took me a month of playing to get a system down for me.

I have a note book I wright down how I do stuff for my attys the little changes I make what works what doesn't. don't be afraid to try something a little different. Nothing changes if you keep doing it the same way right?
Good luck! I almost forgot the distance between the coil and the air hole come in to play also.

The thing is I am a master builder at drippers lol. Here wick placement is cruicial. But for the time it was working it was the best atty I've ever tried.

not really just make sure the wick is long enough to go down both sides of the head but short enough to not get in the threads when putting the chimney back on. after i screw the chimney on a retest the resistance. and push the wick ends down both sides of the head with an allen key or something. add a drop or two to get the wick started, put it together, fill shake a little to start the flooding and vape til empty.

i use 2 pieces of 3 mm myself, if you can rebuild a dripper you can do this.

I'm new to Kayfun Lites as well. I just received two of them yesterday. But while waiting for them to come in, I watched several videos on setting them up, the past few days. To be honest, I didn't like Todd's method at all. I couldn't see pulling the wicks up, screwing the chimney on, cutting the excess, and then shoving them back down.
I decided to go with the "Figure 8" method. The result is two loops of wick going across the channels, before the chimney is screwed on. I have both of mine set up this way, with 2mm ekowool and 30ga kanthal. They work perfectly. No dry hits, and loads of vapor.

This is my first rebuildable and I am in no way an expert but my first build is perfect. I used the figure 8 method. This method allows you to adjust the size of your two loops after the coil has been secured to the posts. I watched some German YouTube videos. I couldn't understand them so I muted it and just mimicked their actions. I'm new here and don't know how to post links so I'm of little help, sorry. Just search for the kayfun figure 8 method. If I can do it anyone can

I just picked up some 28 gauge wire. I have some regular silica wick and the really fat ekowool (forgot to ask measurements lol.) can you guys post pics of your builds if convenient?

Here is my setup (D$K special 8) Built with 32AWG Kanthal + 2mm Ekowool

I use 2 or 3 mm silica in an S and wrap over it. I've never used a paper clip either. Attach the legs then fold the ears down along the side and screw down the chamber. Check to make sure they r in position and test fire the coils. I've yet to wrap a non wicking coil on this atty, tight, med or loose no issues for me. Tear it down and re-wrap as many times as u need to, that's the fun in rebuildables, experiment a little with the ohms. U had it once and it was good, just keep at it.

Btw I usually wrap a 1.5 to 1.7 ohm coil with 30 gauge or .05 ribbon wire.

Take a vape with just the combustion chamber and chimney on. I always do before I put in the tank and load 4mls in.
