Couldn't agree more, I have 5 authentic KFL+ and have yet to try anything as satisfying...I have no desire to fill a room with vapor, the draw and flavor are perfect with exceptional reliability and I love the ability to customize them in so many different ways.

When the KF4 was announced I got pretty excited to see what they had done, needless to say I was dissapointed...I set my limit at $100 for an attie and 20 parts or less.

Other than the fact the K4 is darn sexy looking, so many comments I've read indicate in a blindfold test, one would be hard pressed to tell any difference between a KFL+ and a K4. This gives a significant advantage to the utter simplicity and rock solid performance of the KFL+ over the K4 at half the price.

Simplicity is sexy.

I totally agree with you two.
$180 is just too high (even though the quality and innovation actually do merit the price).
With the V4 airflow wide open, it's too airy for mouth hits, and not airy enough for direct lung hits. You can take small short lung hits with the airflow wide open, but that just diminishes the amazing flavor these devices produce (for me at least).
On the V4 I just dial the airflow down to hit just like all my other KFL+'s, so now I have a very expensive KFL+ that holds less juice :)

There's so many RTA's that have basically copied the kayfun design, many are even more expensive than a genuine kayfun, but there's just something about the KFL+ that will never die. It's a special device and most of us here will try new devices as the industry progresses, but I also would be willing to bet that most of us here will always go back to our trusty Kayfun's...

I have 10 KFL+ clones. Build everything to 1.1-1.4ohms and am pleased with the taste and the vapor level. I tried all kinds of attys over the last year or so and I have gotten rid of all of them. Never even bothered trying the Kayfun 4 or the Subtank. Doubt that I will purchase another atty.

Oh good, another clone lover. :D I've been in love with my 3 Tobecos and 1 EHPro since I got them; best and most trouble-free vape I've ever enjoyed in 15+ mos of vaping. But lately, all of my kayfun clones seem to leak, just a tiny bit -- not enough to make a huge mess and endanger the mod, but just droplets, per each refill -- when I take the KF off the mod to refill, I see the moisture, dark brown like old juice -- much darker than what's in the tank. Does this sound like maybe the insulators are just wearing out and need to be replaced? I've replaced all the o-rings on all of them, and though that stopped a couple of much bigger leaks, it hasn't done anything to correct this other very-slow leak. If I hadn't gotten the iSticks, I dunno if I'd even have realized there was a problem, since I didn't see this moisture in the open well of my sigelei zmax, only on the flat surface of the iSticks.

Any suggestions? (oh BTW, they are all KFL+ -- 3 tobecos and 1 ehpro)

If you're talking about the small droplets that accumulate around the 510 connector outward to the edge of the base it's likely just condensation and not a leak, with the tank warm after a draw it'll vent vapor and this is where the condensation droplets come from. it happens to all of my authentics.

Hmm, that sounds like a relief, I think -- there never does seem to be anything down in the iStick's 510, so I had wondered if that might be it. But would that sort of thing be so much darker in color than the juice inside it?

I have a couple of EHPro V2 dual airholes, an EHPro V2 single and an EHPro V1. They were my favorites until I tried a V2 base from FT. The 10 that I am using are all the FT models. They are far superior to the EHPro for airflow. I have commented on this before in this thread. Picture on the FT site has wrong assembly and you need to supply your own o-ring but if you look at the reviews they are all positive. Once I tried one, the EHPro bases didn't cut it anymore. If you want to do yourself a favor, order 1 and try it out. $7.74 Replacement Base for Kayfun - stainless steel / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I have no problems with the airflow now, with mine about halfway open. Too much air just ruins a good vape, it's like tryng to "smoke a straw."

Haha...
I had a similar issue that eluded me for a bit, concerning your earlier post about mysterious drops of liquid.
The liquid was not coming from the AFC, it was glued in the wide open position with a generous amount of blue loc-tited. Fill screw had a good o-ring, nothing coming through the positive pin's insulator...
Turns out it was a drop of liquid coming out of the air hole, it slowly oozed down the side and puddled around the base, making me think it was a problem with the base... But it wasn't lol. Seems it always happened after dropping my device (wicking knocked out of place), or after I rewicked and primed the build with a little too much juice...
Not saying you have the same issue, but there's a chance. I don't know what to say about the color of the juice, other than it's sitting there getting oxidized at a fast pace causing the nicotine to darken.
I'd like to know what you conclude is happening...

So i'm looking at purchasing a Kayfun Lite + (when cloud 9 re-opens), and a Russian 91% from somewhere else, but that's another story.

Anyway, really what i want is something of an upgrade from a Protank II which is a little hit and miss and a pain to re-coil, a real pain, even though i got quite good at it, it still doesn't perform at all well and the reason for that is airflow, the air way gets blocked by the coil assembly along with the flavour wick. I started using Subtank Mini's on different more higher powered mods and my Provari v2.5 is kind of getting neglected so i want a decent authentic RTA for it. As i understand it the KFL+ is ideal for lower powered mods at between 10-15 watts. Maybe using 28 or 30awg kanthal and aim for about 1.5ohm's - 2.0ohm's i'd get better more satisfying and consistent vapour production from the KFL+ with my Provari 2.5.

Is the Provari v2.5 powerful enough for the authentic KFL+ ?.

An Authentic KFL+ will be the perfect companion for a P2.5. I run mine all day long at 10 watts/3.9 volts and it's perfect.

I only have a ProV V1, so I put a clone KFL+ on it.

My authentic KFL has to go on something else because my ProV isn't new enough I guess. :?:
