Built a few coils: all 28awg/JOC wick

2.4mm, 11 wrap, 2.0 ohms
3.0mm, 7 wrap, 1.5 ohms
2.4mm, 9 wrap, 1.6 ohms

4th build:
2.0mm, 11 wraps, 1.7 ohms, 3/16" strip OJC
Raised the coil of the deck a touch from other builds.
Liking it!
Probably be my 'go to' build.

..I take one pad of cotton, i rip the two outside layers off then cut two strips off...

I tried that. Found it too difficult to work worth.
Using the whole piece now, wicking fine.
I cut a 3/16" wide strip for 2.0mm-2.4mm ID, and position so that the ends 'open' in a wide fashion as in the above pic.
(like a horizontal orientation vs. vertical )

I don't have any build pix of my KF4 yet (will post them here when I do) but I was having a helluva time wicking 28g nickel without destroying the coil. I'm now using 30g twisted in all of my TP built devices. Here's an image of my Erlkonigin and I build my KF4 exactly the same.

I completely forgot about this post. Only have these two...

I thought todays build would be higher Ohm but it wasnt I wicked the *** outta it like the video I posted above and she easily got up to 15 watts,,

tasty & BIG Vapor
however my favorite juice disappears very quickly at that rate SAD FACE !!!

observation addendum::

Oops my build is actually .54 Ohm (Stock air flow) ( you know how they waiver in that juice cut off adjustment)
AND shes wicked so heavy it worked well same observations as above juice eater...

demands 15 - 18 watts or she floods ..
Vape is great but overall It consumes too much juice like this

Very nice learning experience though.. fortunately another 120 ml is on the way

Question for you k4 owners, have you guys had any bad experience building ni200 coils in them? I have the 4s kit w/ peek insulator, picked up the gold plated spring and man does that thing heat up like a ..... Have it on a vaporshark dna 40 with TP set to 430 F and set it at around 18W. Using 28 awg 14 wraps which comes out to about 0.2 ohms.

Let me know how you guys are building your nickel coils and what were the results. Thanks

Hello all,

Please can you post how you are getting on with Ni200 builds? I am having such a hard time :( I have six authentic v4 A & B decks and two Authentic V4 tanks. All have the s kit with gold spring and new insulator. Plus two long tanks. I gave up with them as I get spitting every time the tanks gets to 50%. But the real problem I am having is inconcistent resistance readings. It's driving me nuts! Every build I am using a 4 wrap .30mm Ni200 from cloud 9. This is the good stuff :) So my RES should be the same each build right? Well, I have only got 0.06 twice in around 20 builds. I rotate the decks to test and every time it is different. I am using a head magnifyer to ensure my connections are sound. So that is not my problem.

Yesterday I bulld 4 builds one after another with my M CLass. Left the tank on for 15 mins and set the RES using the up/down buttons. 4 wrap and 0.10 RES. Fired her up and after three pulls dry/burnt coils. I am using 3mm coil tool and giving good spacing on my coils. I also use japanese cotton.

Someone suggested it could be part No 9. I have checked every deck and all look solid. So not sure if that could effect all sic decks? I will write to SM but at least I should try and gather as much info as I can.

Thanks all and hope to read what some of you are doing and how your authentic V4s are working with TC.

Cheers!

Edit!!! I found the problem. It was the cable I was using. Seems the vendor must have sent me something different as it burns the cotton within a short time. Now I am using hard from another vendor (wire and stuff UK) Ni200 and it's perfect!!! So just incase anyone has the same issue as me then check your wire. It could be the wrong type.

Ahh....The Crazy Wire Company. I buy all my wire from those guys.

Crazy Wire Company Ltd
(AKA - wire and stuff.co.uk)
Good prices too.
