I have invested hours into researching the kayfun / russian and its versions, yet there are some questions that I have before I bite the bullet. I'm turning to you guys because I'm sure many of you have had experience with both, and could probably answer my questions and save me a hell of a lot of time, so thanks for that in advance. I will try to be as descriptive as possible.

Let it be known that I will be purchasing clones via fasttech. I have decided to go for the kayfun due to it's popularity on youtube and the videos concerning it and drilling out the airholes. Any search for "russian 91 drill airhole" points me to video's exclusively related to kayfuns.

1) The kayfun 3.1 ($24.38 Kayfun v3.1 ES Styled Rebuildable Atomizer Kit (4.5mL) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping) appears to have more features, and is easier to fill, yet the kayfun lite ($14.39 Kayfun Lite Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5mL) - clear tank section at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping) has twice the reviews and presumably twice the purchases. (disregard logic, sales are relatively equal in other items)

Why is the lite more popular despite its lack of features?

2) There are multiple videos about drilling out airholes in the kayfun. I will refer to three:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrtQma7Nw3s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctQaCKEGDgQ

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8RAKmZq65o

None of these videos testify as to whether they are drilling out a kayfun 3.1, lite, or lite plus.

Are these instructions interchangeable between all three versions? If not, can you determine which ones they are using in each?

3) In this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...un-lite-plus-3-1-etc-original-clones-etc.html

User savagemann states:

Now onto the Kayfun Lite and the R91%.
The KFL and R91% do not have that extra juice well, so they are a little shorter.
If these leak down the airhole, juice has nowhere to go besides coming out the air intake hole at the bottom of the atty.
Personally, this is not of concern to me, because when these are built properly, they shouldn't leak at all. Unless under extreme weather and or altitude/pressure changes .

I might be leaving this mod in my car in the summer heat of Alabama. For reference, this heat makes carto-tanks flood with high VG juice that would normally require priming between hits. Should this sway me to purchase the 3.1 ES clone?

Thanks again for all the help.

P. S. I will be sub-ohming, so I assume drilling out the airhole is a must as it is in the RSST. I also do exclusively lung hits.

I watched the video from badbrassvaping and I'm fairly certain it's a Kayfun lite+.

i have a russian and it is not really good for lung inhales even fully open.

i cant speak about leaving it in a hot car and leaking.i would think that almost any bottom coiled tank would suffer leaking issues left in a hot car in the summer.

Not to be a jackass but have you seen the new fogger v4. Dual coil so you can more easily get this into the resistance range your looking for with dual wicks as well and huge amounts of air in stock form. You can get it at fasttech as well. If you can afford it maybe you should add it to your order when you pick up a Kayfun. It might be right up your alley.
