Forgot what you were doing - been there

Now I drip on occasion and enjoy my Kayfuns as the pack mules they are.

Try dropping from a dripper to a T3. you will think someone blocked off the air holes.

No doubt! All my RBAs are full air flow, along with my dripper. Grabbed the old stick with a T3 while cleaning the pool. Maybe time to change the coil, but I was sucking a golf ball through a hose on that thing.

Do you use 2 different nicotine amounts for each topper? Most drippers use a lower nicotine and if you are one of them perhaps when you use a higher nic on the KFL you are getting a bit more "spice" to the vape. Also when I quit smoking and went to vaping I had a time of adjustment taking a "puff" as the airflow was much easier vaping but for a time I really pulled hard causing me to choke a little, just needed to back off a little bit....Maybe you are hitting the KFL just a little to hard trying to get the same result an RDA gives.......just sayin

In drippers I'm vaping 3mg nic, mixing my own. In Kayfuns usually around 6 mg nic.

I've got an MVP2 in front of me right now with a Kayfun on it, 1.3 ohm coil @ 4.2v and it's making me cough, it doesn't do that if I draw vapour straight into my lungs, but if I puff a few times hold in my mouth then inhale ... cough, splutter, choke.

I can drip the same e-liquid on a Stillare /Chanamod and vape on a 1.8 ohm coil firing at 18 watts (5.8v), lung hit, no coughing no spluttering.

When I started getting serious about vaping (March 2014) I used Kayfuns, but something's changed and I can't figure out what it is.

I had a similar problem with my Kayfuns, fantastic at first, then it seemed to just not get the job done. Started playing with different coil configurations/ Ohm's and brought them back to life. I am currently running a .62 parallel on a mech and have found new love for the Kayfun. Is a little tricky to install but worth the time. Oh and airflow is wide open.

Odd.....I must say.....hmmmm....how about lowering to the lowest voltage, give it a go then adjust if needed. Could just be a heat related issue.

I've noticed the same thing. I went from cartoanks to the KFL+ to rebuildable drippers (with drilled out air holes).

Cartotanks & KFL require the mouth inhale. RDA's the lung inhale. I prefer the open airy draw of the RDA's. I have to stop and remember that when I go to the cartotanks or KFL that the draw is going to be tighter.

I still love all three.

I run my Kayfun at like 8-9 watts. I just want good flavor and some nicotine, to me it's very satisfying. I tried a guys Aerotank last week and it was ok, his liquid sucked to be frank. He tried the Kayfun with some of my homemade and it was like a religious experience for him.

You get lots of air with a dripper so that cools the vape down pretty well. I make sure I pull the coil up a little from the air hole on the Kayfun when I build it. It seems harsh if it's sitting too low. It blocks the flow a little and you get much hotter vapor.

yeah It's an air flow thing I'm sure, on drippers I'm constantly wide open, always lots of air, lots of vapor but not at crazy sub-ohms, and when I go back to a Kayfun there's something going on now that just irritates my lungs, kinda like when you take that very first vape of the day that tickle that makes you splutter, maybe I'll sell the Kayfun and buy an Orchid when they come out in the UK

It's a moisture thing. All that air in the dripper dries out the vapor. I have the same issue going from my airy fogger to my kf. The vapor from my kf on the same juice , ohms and wattage is not as big of a cloud but denser warmer and a lot more moist. Too hot and it's like trying to inhale pure steam

How do you like the fogger ? and which version do you use, cheers

So far it's just ok. I have the 4.0 and had major leaking and wicking issues. I've since changed the juice channels to the wider channels the 4.1 has from the kf type it originally had so the wick fits in the channels like an aqua and fixed the leaking. I get better flavor and vape from my KFL+ but I'm still working out the right coil position above the air holes and ohms. It does demand lung inhales only though

I was looking at Fogger reviews, some people swear by them as the greatest thing since sliced bread, others try a Fogger then get rid of it as fast as possible them, seems like a "marmite" reaction. Anyway I'm really happy with RDA's for now, maybe if a clone Aethertech Orchid comes out I'll give it a try, no way I can afford the authentic at the moment, cheers guys, I'm out.

I started on Vivi Nova's and Protanks, went to a Kayfun and thought my world opened up. Then I stepped into the realm of dripping and sub-ohm builds. The Kayfun, that I loved, became a meh vape. I loved the airy draw and intense flavor of the RDA. Lately, though, I've gone back to the Kayfun/Provari combo and feel it's an ok vape again. Still enjoy dripping a bit more, but the Kayfun satisfies me throughout the day, with the convenience of the tank.

So in my humble opinion, just clean out the Kayfun and put it away for a bit. You might one day go back to it and love it again. One thing I can say about vaping, is that your tastes do change. What is great today, you'll grow tired of tomorrow. Then one day, you'll try it again and think, "damn, that wasn't that bad. Wonder why I put it away for so long."
