I had an issue just like that when using an adapter on a KGO. The first time that happened I needed to wiggle the connector pin, at the base of the atty, a bit and pull it down for it to get a good connection. I used a hobby flat-head screwdriver, but you could use a paperclip or even tweezers. Then the battery itself took a dive and had to get it replaced. Could have been a coincidence though..

I've bought six KGO batteries over the last few months, and two out of the six do this - intermittently but frequently enough that they're basically unsusable. I asked about it here and was told, basically, it was something I was doing wrong and complicated instructions about modifying the battery with screwdrivers, paper clips, tinfoil and what-not. Sorry, no, if I buy a battery for a flashlight or a camping radio or whatever, I should not and will not expect to have to modify it in any way - for one thing that is not really safe, for another, it's a pain in the tush and I'll just move to another device.

If you search for threads with "KGO blinking battery" or similar terms you'll find quite a few threads about this issue. It's really annoying, and it happens no matter what carto type (I have five different types I use)...and the problem seems isolated to only two batteries and in almost four months has never happened with the initial two batteries I got - which are still working flawlessly. So I think it's a battery/source/quality control/knock-off issue....the only ones I'm having a real problem with are the ones I bought most recently; the first two sets I bought from a different vendor and they're just fine even though they're the oldest batts I'm currently using.

I'm going to call the vendor I bought my last KGO kit from to ask about this. Otherwise I love love love this PV but will not be recommending it any more because I'm too irritated. I spent almost three months here being a KGO fan-girl and recommending it but have stopped doing that until I figure out whether some vendors are selling knock-offs or seconds or what.

Process of elimination: take the atty off the adapter, push button; take the adapter off the battery, push button; test atty on another (protected) device to eliminate the atty as a cause. When the light stops blinking, whatever you removed in the previous step is the culprit. If the light blinks with nothing attached, it's a bad battery.

On both of the ones I got, the light did keep blinking with nothing attached, and I tried what you suggested as well.

Mainly I wanted to update:
I emailed the vendor (I'm unsure whether I should mention them here) asking if this was a known issue and if they had any suggestions...it didn't even occur to me for a second that I was due replacements. Didn't even cross my mind! I just wondered if there was some fix they could suggest, and also figured they'd appreciate a heads-up if there was some ongoing issue with something they were selling.
However - I applaud their great customer service. I got an email back within a few hours saying they had very few issues with the batts they were selling and they put another two in the mail for me. So kudos to an ECF-verified vendor who stands behind their product! I will keep recommending them here. :)

And kudos to you Bodrell for being a reasonable customer. I sell LOTS of non- Vapor type "items" over the Internet. Stuff that's a lot more delicate than batteries too! If you Google "Lotsoffish" you can find out what I deal with easy enough.

50% of the stuff I sell I breed myself but the rest of it comes from all over the world.

I ALWAYS stand behind everything I sell but it's hard to do that if folks don't let me know there are issues with a shipment.

I think most vendors are like this and guess what? The ones that aren't don't last long.

LOL Lotsoffish I thought your s/n related to the dating site! Good friend of mine used to breed and show fish back in the day.

Good customer relations need reasonable sellers and buyers. I appreciate the ECF "approved" seller system because vendors KNOW they'll be held accountable in a very public forum!

what kind of fish you breed? Just thought because I love african cichlids. I understand the whole showfish thing. I miss my aquariums and the beauty of african cichlids. :(

Honestly, I run an 80 tank fish room and I breed/keep/sell whatever I feel like at the given time.

I have been doing this for close to 30 years now.

You outta set up a new tank!

There are LOTS of hot African Cichlids available through the Internet now. A few years back when Petsmart and Petco swept across the Country and put all the smaller mom and pop shops out of business all the breeders and importers took to the Internet to sell their stuff.

It's now sorta like Vaping. Most (not all) brick and mortar shops sell high priced "junk" and all the "good stuff" can be found online. What's even nicer is the fish arrive right to your door through the USPS just like Provari's do.

The main reason for such easy going customer service (they are great guys, don't take me the wrong way) is that the customer is now the Quality Control. This means that they ship things (to the vendor) anticipating X amount of problems. If the customer complains they get a replacement. If not, oh well!

Some manufacturers spend a lot on QC, some spend nothing, it is accounted into customer (or vendor) returns. Not a problem, it's just the new way to do business. The point is, if you have a problem, talk to the vendor ASAP. They are usually more than happy to be reasonable.

I am glad that you were treated fairly and I hope peacemaker 1337 has the same result.

Enjoy!

Excellent points X P3, especially the bolded parts IMO.
