Well, thanks to everyone, windwalker for your erm, gernius and ultimately very helpful info, washvap for ur help and making me feel better about my purchase, madjack AS always you came to the rescue like those vampires on HBO - u smelled my fear and came running!!! Thanks hairyball for what won't fit, thanks pnguin for your faves!, thanks maximillian for your "two cents", and thanks to tomigirl for your recommendations.

But seriously, windwalker, either you have waaaaaaaay too much time on ur hands or ur a truly helpful person. Thanks for going through all that to help me (I'm sure it'll help a lot of people who read this thread).

Well, so now I gotta get a new 510 atty for sure, and I will look into the recs. u guys made. FUNNIEST thing, is that I have already ordered EGO cones in all diff colors to jazz up my KGO....which means I'm already a step ahead for the new 510 atty.

Now....of course I haven't tried dipping or umm "carty-ing" ? So, quick question, when dripping, how many drips should u put on the atty?

Also, I feel like I've spent forever trying to get that burnt plastic-y type taste off the atty I already have, any tips n tricks on how to speed this up? Basically I've just been putting the cart on, and acting as if vaping (most of the time) or just puffin not inhaling (YOU CANNOT BLAME ME, carts are crap!) so basically just hittin the button for 5 secs every 3secs or so...it might have gotten better but it's hard to tell if that stink is coming from the yuck menthol cart or the atty.

Thanks again and I have to see my dr about this PV induced insomnia.

p.s. anybody use the chat?

and low resistance - since that's what I hear is best for KGO means literally, the lower the number the lower the resistance or is it opposites? Like get a 1.7 rather than 3.0 or the other way around?

WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT YOU GUYS!?!?!??!!!?!?!? :p

So to add or detract from additional confusion. Get a multi meter and test your Kgo and will help take some of the guess work out of which cartos work beautifully with it. I have an 1100mah KGO in which the instructional pamphlet lists at 3.7V but actually runs closer to 4.2. I love the 1.25XL 510 LR Dual Coil Cartos, simply amazing and the 1.5's work great too. Dont bother with the tanks the vape is not as good and they burn easily and burnt juice is crap. And your tips should work in the carto's fine. The KGO atty's that come with it, not so much. If you want to drip I recomend a cisco 306 atty with an xl drip tip or cannon works well :) Good luck you will love your KGO!

Thanks tomigirl, by Cannon...well, what do you mean? lol Is that a brand? Where can I find it, I'm now trying to buy these things all at one place.

Isn't necessarily the best. Really depends on how warm you want the vapor to be. Yeah, your right and it will be dependant on how low of a ohm that you choose. For instance, the 3ohm would be best for High Voltage vaping. So, 1.7 ohms would be considered LR and in general are made for 3.7V.

Heyas Nubee,

LR does in fact mean a lower resistance value. i.e. 1.7oms is lower than 3oms. Less resistance means more/hotter vapor, shorter battery charge life (not sure about battery life in general), and I've heard that LR atty's and carto's are likely to burn out faster than normal resistance, but I'm still too new to this to have personal experience with burning out components. (And with that said, I'm SURE to burn up a bunch this week)

p.s. Love the avatar, Nubee. Is that Jessica Rabbit? Hmmm... No Jessica Rabbit was a redhead as I remember. First thing I thought of when I saw the avatar, though :p

Quickly overcoming the burnt taste + does Windwalker have too much time on his hands, or is he actually helpful?...

lol...

Well, I'm actually just an extreme Nomenclature Freak, and honestly, I think it is one of the funniest things in the whole industry... For years I've worked in the tech field, and we have a thing called W3C consortium that handles nomenclature for all internet technology, so that Firefox, Safari, Internet Explore, Opera, etc. all work the same way...

With tech, there is no margin for error, everything must be perfectly precise... (imagine a 100 page long book and if one word is misspeled the whole book destroys itself) . . . Plus it constantly changes, so most tech type people are real kooks about nomenclature - " 'b' is deprecated since 2006" we shout (nerd nomenclature joke) as we constantly check W3C for the latest Nomenclature...

So, for tech nerds, watching the Nomenclature fiasco in the E-Cigarette world is hilarious... For quite a few years now I've been under the hood with the tech side of the E-Cig industry, and in one case, I kid you not, I worked with a manufacturer who has FIVE, count them FIVE DIFFERENT PRODUCTS all with the exact same name. Hilarious... A customer calls asking a question and no one has any idea what is going on...

Then there's this thing called "First Exposure Bias" which means: "The definition a person is first exposed to is the one they believe to be correct." So two people, totally honest, sincere, experienced and professional can get in these huge arguments about little silly stuff: "KGO is 510 EGO Compatible!" - - - "NO! KGO is 54mm x 9.2mm, not EGO compatible..."

But the only reason they argue, is because the first thing they got exposed to named KGO was different, and they each think it is correct... When the truth is, there is no Standards Board, so you can call anything 'EGO Compatible' it's might be meaningful, it might not be... EGO was the name of product, not a standard...

So it's funny to me...

As far as having too much time on my hands... I work with China all night, almost everynight, and there is this 'Conversation Lag' - like if you look at the that transcript, it's like 3-5 minutes between each response... So it gives me time to hang out here and be helpful when I can... That's why i can pull up a Sailebo rep in ten seconds, I'm plugged into the world all night everynight anyways... I just clicked one button and I was online with her...

Now - Stinky Atty's versus Cartos...

It's might just be me, but I won't take two puffs off a stinky, tiny, metallic, or plasticy tasting cart or atty...
No way... I toss them immediately.

People talk about atty burn in lasting a day or two, I say - "Are you insane!!!" Not two puffs, ever. There are so many things that can make a burnt, plasticy, or metallic taste - not one of them is good for you.

For me, I vape because it is a cleaner way to enjoy my tobacco, and for me, I must answer the Question: "What is causing that burn in period? What is burning?"

If it goes away, where did it go? I mean, most likely, it is flux residue, or cleaning solvent, or surface sealant, so that means I would be inhaling it until it completely burnt away... No way, not me.

Same for plastic taste... No way.

For me, on that beautiful beastly 1100mAh KGO battery, I'd go ECHO-E Dual Coil 2.3ml cartomizer - all day, everyday... So clean, so pure, right out of the box... 2.3ml, dual coil, copper coils, lead free zero flux solder, no 'Tin Whiskers', Ceramic Coil Shields prevent fibre burn - it is technologically the cleanest and most advanced carto in the industry... It should fit that KGO just fine... But you can buy one of the ECHO single coils from nhaler.com for $3 and find out...

Then mtnvapor.com has the Dual coils 5 for $18, if they fit... test for $3.00... it's a good deal...

But I warn you, if you try it, it may ruin all other carto and atty for you...

Once you switch to copper coil cartomizers, you realize how strong the metallic taste was, and you realize that you'd 'gotten use to' burning atty's, tinny coils, and a metallic flavor...

A note on this: "Tin Whiskers" this is the best kept secret in the world of E-Cigs, but it's not really a secret because so few people even know it exists - the source of that nasty metallic flavor you get sometimes... (not the burnt taste, the metallic, tinny taste) - - -

Here's what that metallic taste is: E-Cigs must use 'Lead Free Solder' for safety reasons - this means, less expensive carts use 'More Tin in their Solder' which is fine, except for the whiskers... There's actually a really interesting Wikipedia article about all the problems Tin Whiskers cause: Whisker (metallurgy) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tin melts when exposed to electricity, just a tiny little bit, but enough to grow these tiny little whiskers... So in computer tech, the tin whisker is a major problem, but in cartomizer and atomizer, with heat and oil - where do you think the whisker goes?

If you guessed: "It gets vaporized and then inhaled" you'd be right!

So the next time you get a tastey little metallic flavor, remind yourself - "I just took a shot of molten tin vapor into my lungs"
Do that 300-600 times a day, in a few years, you can become a super hero "Tin Lung!"

So, personally, for me, the Bloog style cartomizer, and the ECHO's are basically the only one's I'll put in mouth... They both use a woven ceramic cover over the solders to prevent any whiskers from entering the fluid mass...

Also, Smok Tech carts seem to be 'Tin Stable' but I don't know how they do it, and I have gotten tinny hits from them before, but i still use them some times...

But, give yourself a treat and try the ECHO-E carts out on that KGO... :)

Where were you a week ago???? Luckily the majority of the cartos I bought were SmokTech, but if I had known about these ceramic jammys I woulda definitely got those first. I wish I knew where the smell is coming from....I definitely know what burning plastic smells like (I was a kid once), but burning tin? Maybe that's the weird smell? Or it might be those wrecklessly shagged fibers peeking out of the cartridge. BLAHHHH Now I won't die from lung disease, I'll die from tin disease. :?:

I've been going absolutely NUTS with that metallic taste too!!! Thought it was my delrin ss drip tip at first, asked my boyfriend last night to please take a few hits off of my eGo (1300mah) to see if he tasted it too. I use LR cartos because I like a warm vape. Now I KNOW I am not nuts!!!! hahaha Thanks for the heads up windwalker, and all of your helpful insight. I appreciate it very much. Just ordered those Echo dcc's, I hope they taste as good as they sound. Bye bye metal!!!! YUK

Well, Nubee, for clarity's sake - you aren't likely to die from Tin Poisoning, it's actually pretty safe...

But, the long term effects of it are relative unknown, and if it can be easily avoided, why bother exposing oneself to it even if it is is totally safe...

I mean, think of it like this: We've been using Tinfoil to cover food for generations now. It's a really safe element. But have you ever chewed tinfoil? Or, perhaps accidentally got a little bit of it into you mouth with some food?

It is among the least desirable tastes you can experience...

It might be totally safe, (tin poisoning is extremely rare) but, I vape ecstatically... I mean, for me, when I lived in Asia, and traveled to the villages, so many things are done for the sense of ecstatic pleasure... Gardens are laid out ecstatically, houses are decorated, not for the look they have on the eye, but for the sensation they give the dwellers...

...and many of these classical style paper interior wall houses included a 'Smoking Room' - Long glorious pipes, beautifully arranged and displayed on special stands, elegant tobacco dishes, special cushions, etc. Every aspect there to increase delight...

The experience of tobacco was / is a sacred ecstasy, something a person does solely for the pleasure of doing it... That's really pure, to take a few minutes each hour, delight for delight's sake, nothing else, no really purpose except for delight...

Or like this, consider the smoking jackets of the 50's in Europe and the USA? Not just decorative pouches, lighters, cigarette holders, but CLOTHES! Literally, people had these silk lined velvet smoking jackets, sometimes even floor length! An whole outfit, so comfortable, so luxurious as to be reserved solely for the delight of smoking...

That's what I'm really talking about... The toxicity stuff? It's important, because you want to vape without hurting yourself... with a clear head, guilt free, pure delight...

That's what I'm talking about - I want each draw off my PV to be an experience of bliss, a dedication to the ecstatic. I want people who don't even vape to see my pv's and consider them hypnotically beautiful without even knowing what they are. I want a red velvet smoking jacket with a royal purple - quilted - woven silk lining to lounge in as I take long slow pulls off my PV...

For me, I vape because it delights me... I have the best oils in the world available to me, and since I switched to copper coil ECHO-E's, EVERYTHING else just tastes metallic...

Like - check this Oil description from on a Yao Jide reserve collection oil: "As the vapor is first inhaled - it reveals hints of hazelnut and pecan mingling with a velvety, slightly carmelized creame brulee that gives way to a tart pastry finish reminiscent of ladyfingers drizzled in brandy that lingers on the tongue after exhale…"

That flavor right there took Yao Jide 3 years to create using plant source flavoring, it's literally designed to model the three stages of a wine's progression across the palate: Scent, Taste, Aftertaste - with careful attention to make each stage uniquely delightful. When vaping it, you find yourself closing your eyes and relishing the tastes as you exhale as slowly as possible.

Compare that to: "Peach - with a hint of tinfoil mingling with burning household cleaners, giving way to the aftertaste of a plastic water bottle."

See what I'm saying? Whether your vapor of choice is a Yao Jide Reserve Collection, or a Kick Bass Vapor Exclusive, or maybe even an Aroma Ejuice WTA it makes no difference, there is absolutely no reason to allow a burnt, metallic, or plastic taste into your mouth for more than half a puff...

That's awesome Tracy! I think you are going to really love them! (and do pm me your thoughts, I'd love to hear how it goes for you!)

Be aware, there are a few different versions of the ECHO Series Carts - (all have the same Copper Coil with Woven Ceramic Shield), but you may want to experiment with the single coil for a slightly thinner hit if the DCC is too much...

One thing I notice, is because the draw is so much smoother, and they produce so much more vapor, if you hit them like a regular cart or atty, you'll knock yourself down... There are a ton of reviews of them on Youtube, and many of the reviewers agree: "They are awesome, but almost 'too powerful'." Personally, I had that experience the first time I tried them too...

But then I discovered I was hitting them way too hard, it's like driving a Ford Focus and then getting into a Ferrari, if you step on the gas the same way, you're going to get blasted through a wall, you have to learn to control the extra power...

But once you get the hang of that extra power, I bet you're going to love them...

Just to make sure you ordered the tight ones before they send them out, it's the ECHO-E that should fit your 1300mAh EGO, the standard ECHO is an 808 thread...

Nubee, if you are using atomizers, blow out the crap that is in them before you vape. Hold the atomizer up to your mouth, put a paper towel at the threaded end and blow until all of the fluid comes out. Then put a few drops of juice on the atomizer and you are ready to vape.

If you are using cartomizers, you need to wait until at least 20 drops of juice (for Boge cartos, more for XLs) are well soaked in before you vape it. Letting them sit overnight after the first fill is best.

I have an KGO and am having no trouble interchangeing the parts with my ego. Yes the KGo and EGgo are interchangeable. As we all know there are rebrands out there and thsi is where yoou run into trouble because sometimes a rebrand is not inter changeable with an ego. I got mine from a vendor who was selling the genuine kgo. I have run into trouble with the drip tip issue and I have a couple of drip tips that are suppose to be 510 but do not fit on my cartomizers. I usually get my drip tips from good prophets or I kenvape. these definately fit. I get my cartomizers usually from I kenvape unless he is out and another good company to get carto's from if you use them is Madvapes. One other good company is Crystal Clear Vaping. He also sells drip tips.

Do these come in different ohms? I have an Igo, very similar (I think) to the OPs Kgo, and I want to stay away from low resistance cartos due to them possibly endangering the life of my Igo. I don't wish to debate that subject, and hijack the thread here, because most folks do love the LR cartos.... but I just read a lengthy thread about this and I'm just not taking any chances with 1.5 to 2.0 ohm cartos. I'd just rather go a bit higher than that. And, do you have a link to where we can obtain these cartos?

Thanks, Windwalker for all of your information. Too much time on your hands? No, you are just a really resourceful person, and pretty smart as well. I've been accused of having too much time on my hands simply because I like to sew and make things. Before Project Runway, people looked at me like I was some alien geekoziod if I said "Yes, I MADE that", lol!!
