When it comes to vaping, I always act with respect as I know the general consensus of the uneducated is it's smoking. If I vape around someone, I always ask permission. Outdoors I exhale toward the sky and always ask for permission while indoors.

I also take this opportunity to educate others as to what vaping really is as it's not smoking.

Right on :thumb:

Hey TheOdessa just saw this posted in the "General Vaping" forum

Well the manager could have had more tact in dealing with the situation.

If it was something that took her by surprise, but did not pose any immediate problem to the personel and/or patrons, she could have just waited until next day for a change in policy (i.e. limit to small cigalikes only or completely disallow), and make sure that all personel is on the same line,

i had an issue similar to this, visiting a fellow friend of a friend while out helping them film for a movie they are making.

after many confrontations - and iterations to my gear/juice/vapor - it comes down the simple fact "they dont like how it looks like smoke and it is in their space"

first was told its unhealthy and im clouding the room with poison and his parents dont allow smoking in the house(tho one of them smokes a pipe in the kitchen.. all utensils on a plate ready) - recently started dripping, and for the special occasion of being at this kids house(knowing he thinks its poison) i was vaping JUST vg. no flavor, no nic, no PG.

as the VG being used, i was told "it smells like baby poop" - HAD to laugh in his face, he was imagining things - VG was odorless.

continued to vape, and then was told that im going to give him nicotine poisoning/addiction from being in the room - i had to reasure him a second time, it was JUST vg, and nothing else, no flavor or nic or W/E. - unless your alergic to vegitables, then i have no reason to stop besides you "dislike the fog"

third time rolls around - mind you this all is happening within 20mins - "STOP FOGGING THE ROOM. I CANT THINK, IM GETTING DIZZY"

i calmly walk him over to the PC on the desk, pull up a spread sheet for childrens tylenol - "IF this is safe, and cant make you tripp balls or halucinate or w/e your experiancing now - how is THIS making you trip? what im vaping is theoreticaly safer then the tylenol - its missing ALL the ingredients but the liquid catalist - VG"

apparently not firing any brain cells, i was told his parents are going to get mad at him, and that i need to go outside now.

last remark i made walking out - "if one or both can smoke a pipe in the house i dont see the issue, but if you insist they will have a problem and yell at you, tell them to take it up with me and talk to the direct problem so i can educate them since maybe they are more accepting than you to learn."

That sucks, but management certainly has the right in such matters. I've been vaping in my local watering hole for almost two years with no objections, even though MD law now prohibits it. The fact that the staff and regulars know and love me, and that I probably spend $10,000 a year there are certainly huge factors. In your case, a boycott is appropriate.

To me it has a lot to do with the volume of the vapor I have been in several places like the op describes and while puffing away on my 65PG/35VG ADV on subohm coils no one bats an eye. I can almost guarantee though on the same build and same mod if I had been using my 80VG/20 PG juice the whole experience would have been different.

The way people react to vaping has a lot to do with how your vaping, like it or not that is the reality we find ourselves in. It just goes back to the old attracting flies with honey saying in my humble opinion.

I have to agree with this it wouldn't have even got to the computer, if someone is in my house they're going to listen to what I say or kindly ... ... .... ...

even if what your saying to your guest is completely hippocricitcal and assback-wards? -comparing it to the info of one of both parents smokes a pipe.

"parents hate smoking" - one or both smokes a pipe

its like throwing a beer party - and a fellow friend shows up with hard liquor, you tell them that alcohol isnt allowed here and they need to leave.

if HE had a problem with it, i wanted HIM to say so, not use the excuse of "his parent" when in reality his parents had no issues.

dont get me wrong, im very kind and respectable to other peoples houses - even vaping at his house, i would walk into an empty room and blow the vape there

also so its not rubbed off rong on your noodles, i didnt vape the VG to BLOW clouds and be disrespectfull, i chose the VG because it was the only BASE liquid i had. i dont have a bottle of PG just sitting around. - i was trying to eliminate ALL other juice additives, so it was "safe as possible" just to attempt to keep this kid happy.

I wouldn't be quite so tolerant if someone were in my house acting like that...

Yea, verily. This last guy's friend has a lot of patience, kid deserves a medal.
In my house you may be certain no 20 minutes would have passed.
Even if you're over giving me a hand..if I tell ya not to vape then you either don't vape or you start walking...

Hazy, still wondering where all the self entitled people come from

to be fair, i was told it was fine, months ago - there was never any problem untill i got a better setup. - as many mention, its "the sight of clouds" that is what is agitating people.

started smoking when i was 7, and i wanted to quit as much as everyone else wanted me too, now that i quit - im being demonized for it, damn right im going to defend my right to happiness

Here's the deal - it wasn't your house. It WASN'T your house. It doesn't matter the
reason, but it was NOT your house. ONLY if it was your house that you paid for can
you justify that type of behavior. I would have kicked you out.

i understand, its NOT my house. --- and to be fair, if being a hippocrite and lying is YOUR thing, then maybe i dont want to be at your house.

my entire life i have ben a "people pleaser" at all costs - i hate my life - the second i attempt to better myself im being told how dumb/ignorant i am for it.

im sorry but i rather every one know and speak the truth, than hide behind lies and make everyone around them miserable.

i understand there is a respect issue, but if you cant respect me enough to tell me the truth.... i dont want to know what your "definition" of respect is. id rather stay away.

Just makes me shake my head.

Doesn't it? I'll take the opportunity of this reply to add some.

On further consideration, the kid might not deserve a medal after all.
What he needs is a swift kick in da .... so maybe he'll think about manning up
and so he'll stop taking this from his alleged friends.

Needless to say, the vaper would have gotten thrown physically out of my 10-20
but I'm old and have few social graces left...;)

Regards,
Hazy:2cool:

I'm not commenting on my belief of whether it is harmful or not I was merely stating that if I ask a guest in my house to stop something theres two choices they stop or they leave. Which is one benefit of owning my own home it will always be a comfortable place for me regardless of my guests beliefs.
