i understand, its NOT my house. --- and to be fair, if being a hippocrite and lying is YOUR thing, then maybe i dont want to be at your house.

my entire life i have ben a "people pleaser" at all costs - i hate my life - the second i attempt to better myself im being told how dumb/ignorant i am for it.

im sorry but i rather every one know and speak the truth, than hide behind lies and make everyone around them miserable.

i understand there is a respect issue, but if you cant respect me enough to tell me the truth.... i dont want to know what your "definition" of respect is. id rather stay away.

I just wanted to tell you I never have and would never say you were dumb and ignorant. We are
different generations and have different opinions, but you are not dumb and ignorant.

I'm not commenting on my belief of whether it is harmful or not I was merely stating that if I ask a guest in my house to stop something theres two choices they stop or they leave. Which is one benefit of owning my own home it will always be a comfortable place for me regardless of my guests beliefs.

but it brings up my point - if you tell some one "in YOUR PARENTS house" to stop doing something, yet, your parents do it - you lost all credibility.

if his parents didnt smoke, i wouldnt of had any issue with walking outside to vape in the first place.

Last I checked, at least until SWAT Teams bust through my door,
everything this side of that door is MY CASTLE.

It used to be that people were courteous and civil.
When I'm a guest in another man's castle
I play by the house rules
even if I think they're silly and hypocritical.

There is a big world out there where I can make up my own rules
and I can always come home to MY CASTLE

the Owners of the house smoke, and have no issue...

like i said, if the parents - the ones who actualy own the house - had a problem, i would have no issue walking outside.

the fact is, the kid dont like "smoke" in his space, and he ran out of excuses to use when i showed him the information/facts, and instead of being respectfull and just telling me he persoanly dont like it, he pushed the excuse onto his parents which also seem to not have an issue.

Agreed. I curse like a sailor and one friend I have doesn't like cursing at his house so while there I do my best to refrain from doing so. Not curse like a sailor and tell him how he's wrong and since it is no threat to anyone he should just deal with it.

I get it I really do, I love vaping and thinks it's harmless to others but it doesn't give me free Reign (lulz) to cram it down everyone's throat. So I choose not to grab my .4 ohm dual coils with 80VG and chunk clouds everywhere I go and proceed to get ...... off when someone asks me to cool it.

Yup. I'd just grab my little stuff and stealth it =)
And roll my eyes a lot.

i understand completely a respect issue.

i just find it happening more and more, and istead of "pleasing these people" - id like the educate them for once, instead of letting them sit on their high horse and rub :censored: in my face.

vaping or not, people need to stand up to these types of "white knights" that think they are better then everyone.

ETA: i wasnt purposly "chucking clouds" in their house, and tbh its not that much of a difference in clouds compared to the kid on an evod. - i was using a 1.8ohm build at 7 watts.... - just more slightly noticeable because i was using pure VG...

Doesn't it? I'll take the opportunity of this reply to add some.

On further consideration, the kid might not deserve a medal after all.
What he needs is a swift kick in da .... so maybe he'll think about manning up
and so he'll stop taking this from his alleged friends.

Needless to say, the vaper would have gotten thrown physically out of my 10-20
but I'm old and have few social graces left...;)

I have a 17 year old graduating soon. He doesn't
vape, but this makes me question as to what exactly
us parents do that gives kids the sense of entitlement.
Give in to them all the time? Go fight their battles in school
if they get a bad grade? Make excuses for them? I don't
know this is probably best left for a parenting board, but
it still makes me wonder.

try having a father on steriods, geting beat daily for "being :censored: stupid" when you accidentaly spill koolaid or turned on a light while they were sleeping.
growing up with this for 20 years.

Maybe his parents do have an issue with vaping because of all the mistaken associations.
Look, your friend was your host. By extension and inheritance rights
his parents house is his house and you were a guest in that home, for whatever reason.

I understand your concern and appreciate your effort at educating your friend.
However, I maintain that if the dude is truly your bud
he shouldn't have to tell you twice or make up any excuses
and pass the buck to mom and dad.

Moreover, I'd have thrown you out of my house...
then asked ya to pass the mod ;)

I think the thing that people are getting at with the stories here, at least the thing that totally winds me up about both of them, is that people said they didn't want it under certain conditions or for certain reasons, then when the conditions were met and/or the concerns were addressed with facts, the people imposing those things changed their minds and made further attempts to disallow it. That's just stupid. If you don't like it, just say you don't like it. What's the point in pretending or lying about it? Don't give me a reason why if that's not the real reason, or an alternative if the alternative isn't ever going to be good enough. I applaud both of you, the OP and the one with the kid, because you handled those situations WAY better than I would have. I have much less tolerance and patience for BS like that.
That said, I don't vape inside public buildings at all, except at the local convenience store where the guys who sell cigarettes are often smoking at the counter, even though it's illegal. They don't complain about my vaping, and I don't complain about their smoke. I was going to say 'live and let live', but in this case it's more like the James Bond book/movie title, Live and Let Die.

And I agree they need to be educated but I think we can agree that it needs to be done without being belligerent. When I leave a place that I have been vaping in I want them to feel that it wasn't so bad the clouds were minimal (even though I love em look at my profile pic) and it smelled a whole hell of a lot better than cigarettes. They owe us some respect as vapers and non smokers but we too owe them the sa me respect whatever their wishes maybe.

Off mah soap box I gotta make me some dinner slam a couple of brews and enjoy this 80VG/20PG Sure Bert I'm puffing away on.

So sorry that happened to you. I had some bad things happen in my
childhood too, and it took awhile to get over. But you can do it, and you
can not let your childhood define who you are as an adult. You are
making a wise decision in choosing to vape instead of smoke, so I know
you're not stupid. Make decisions as an adult wisely so not to repeat
the cycle, and you'll be fine!

which was what i was trying to do. if i wanted to be "belligerent" about it, i would of cranked the box up to 30W and stuck a second coil in the dripper - but im not that disrespectful.

Man, you're making me cry...
We all have some issue or another. Me? I beat crap out of my stepfather for saying the wrong thing in front
of my co-workers - his employees.
Gave up the right to go to my mom's for 20 years until he got too old to hold a grudge, and gave up a good job too.
I could tell ya some stories that might make you realize you don't have it as bad as it might seem to you.

Growing up with this for 20 years tells me it's time to move on.
Just 'cause your authority figure is/was an ********* doesn't mean
you gotta run around questioning everybody's authority

Hope you take this the right way, bud.
I'm on your side even if it don't seem like it

if authority was never questioned - society wouldnt be where it is today.
as americans - we are taught in school to always ask questions.
i will continue to ask questions till i get an educated answer - not some made up BS lie(that keeps changing over time because you cant back it up)

regardless mine/your/anyones past - dont lie to my face, and keep lieing when your proven wrong. i may be "persistant" but it lets me know your mind set is persistant on lying to anyone/every one and that you are not to be trusted with anything. - i feel like i should of ben born in the 60s with all the hippies... THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE!

Man! I lost my like link again.

Beats me what the problem is, Bro.
I'm an old(er) guy but thanks to God and the wonders of vitamins
I have a soon to be 13 year old script kiddie.
He's a good boy, maybe too good next to me when I was his age.

But when I was his age I was busting .... on weekends and after school, moving furniture so
I could have enough money to go to the movies,
eat an occasional whopper at BK and buy my weekly pack of smokes
so I could be cool with the chicks ;)

We had ONE TV and it only got a few off air channels.
No computers and if ya wanted to play games you walked to the arcade and played pinball.

My boy has a mac, a playstation, WII, wifi TV in his room
and he gets angry when I ask him to mow the lawn.

But he's not gonna grow up to be self entitled
or expect to be able to do as he wills wherever he happens to be.
Why? Because part of my loving fatherly duty is
to teach my son some martial arts now and then...lovingly

Yea, he says: May I, Please, and Thank you, SIR...

Darn it, Reign. We're gonna have to stop agreeing, Bro.
This is looking really bad...;)
