Sadly, I think that once again the sins of the few affect the many. In chatting with several managers during my last vacation, there were lots of reasons I heard...
"Well, not on the plane, because people in the back think the plane is on fire..."
The old stand by "we have a guest who is allergic to the smell"...(yea, right)
"Some people get upset because we don't seem to be stopping someone from SMOKING...they don't listen that it's VAPOR, and it bothers them"
And the steward on our cruise said that "spilled e-liquid stains the sheets and linens"...he also said that they at one time had a group if very YOUNG vapers who were "blowing smoke" in other guests faces, and generally being obnoxious...which is why vapers had to go to the SMOKING AREA and be around analog smokers!
I cannot stress enough to always be courteous with your
vaping...or at least VERY stealthy! I didn't vape on the plane (cough)....but SWIM (Someone Who Isn't Me) did...and I...I mean SHE had her vape gear in her sleeve, took a long inhale, and held it until the vapor didn't show on exhale...or exhaled into the pillow I was...I mean SHE was leaning on... That I was a flower child that "didn't inhale" in the 60s helped me learn to be VERY, VERY STEALTHY...and I highly recommend gray hair as part of any disguise while attempting stealth
vaping!
