I've never tried a Smoant product, but Smoant seemed to be favored in reviews comparing compact side-by-side mods. Got a Knight V2 last week via fasttech. It works and carries satisfactorily. The temp control seems spot on with a Wismec Theorem, both with homemade Ni200 coil and SST NotchCoil. Pleasantly, the Theorem sits high enough without the provided extender. The V2 also works well with the included Talos V1 tank and "clapton" coil in VW mode. Flavor in all cases is good, and battery life seems very good.
Sounds like you are pleased with your purchase. I like the V2's weight much better than the V1 (100g lighter). It is also more capable than the V1 incorporating 3 TCR modes, a much better TC curve with more pronounced preheat, & the battery door makes swapping a breeze.I've never tried a Smoant product, but Smoant seemed to be favored in reviews comparing compact side-by-side mods. I really wish it had a proper 510 though, incorporating a larger screen smoked glass but using the exact same screen display as the V1 was a real letdown, and they could have fitted the battery door to the mod a bit better to eliminate movement. The 510 design will be challenged with longer 510 tanks, but will also serve to keep juice out of the mod & off the board.
The movement in that door, the 510, and the light weight give it almost a toy-like cheapness to its feel at times, but I do consider the V2 a marked improvement over the V1 overall and well worth owning. The form factor makes it an ideal & very capable side by side stealth mod to pocket on the go.
So I was at the bank the other day opening some accounts with a banker who still is on analogs & snuck a couple hits off my V2. Told her if she ever wanted to try vaping to let me know & I would loan her a unit to get started. At one point I had to bring stuff to the tellers & must have left the Smoant on her desk. When I finish at the counter she hands me my paperwork, says I'm all set and I shoot off to the meeting I'm late for. While driving over on the way I'm looking to take a vape & had to resort to one of my backup Nebox units.
Go back to the bank later & ask if she found my unit & she tells me no! She has no idea what I'm talking about & didn't even realize I was vaping in front of her at her desk. Here I was offering to give her a unit that probably would have been one of my older Egrip units & I'm pretty sure she clipped my new Knight V2! What is the word coming to? Reluctant to accuse her until I'm sure & I gotta clean out my pickup & make sure it didn't fall down in the front seat or something stupid like that, but I'm ......!
I did receive the White Knight V2 today so at least there is that, but the Black Knight has been missing more than 36 hrs now. Not good!

i've found quite few things underneath the seats of my car i thought were lost in the ether. better to be sure it's not in your vehicle than to point your scopes at the teller and let the accusations rip. if it's not in your truck are you going to threaten her?

Especially getting ripped off by a bank teller. Think of it this way, you might have saved her life if she uses it to stop smoking. Which will be even better satisfaction for you when she 5 to 10 for sorta bank robbery, in reverse.
I think I would not even accuse much less threaten. I would instead give her an egrip, some coils & some 10 ml juice samples to see what she likes. I'd tell her that even though she wasn't interested in trying vaping, I just wnated to leave this with her in case she changed her mind at some time in the future and tell her that I lost my 26year old nephew to cancer and tried vaping to get away from c-sticks and it may have saved my life. It might work for her too, might not, but I'd feel better knowing I provided her the opportunity to try.
I'd give her a printout of pics of the v2 & ask her to be on the lookout in case she saw the next person she worked with that day in the future with it to let me know & let her conscience be her guide.......
All you can do is provide a better example of how to go about life to people like this. You can't change them. I've resigned to take the loss in stride & hope she will surprise me by doing the right thing. I'll know I did at least.
Hell of a way to deal with someone who steals your vape equip.....Give them some more! I ought to have my head examined.

I think I might just order one ... BTW, from everything that I have read, the Talos clearomizer that comes with this mod is junk ... basically, a throw-away item

Talos is essentially a kanger subtank mini that has been restyled and performs accordingly. Does that make it a throwaway? For most it would be a drawer item to be piffed to a friend/newcomer to the vape community to try out over cartomizers/c2-c5s.

Well I'm glad I didn't confront her & hope god will forgive me for thinking the worst. Turns out that I must have had the black Knight on the console while rushing to my meeting and it slid off while I rounded a corner and rather than landing in an uncovered part of passenger's seat it somehow worked its way under two toolboxes I had on the passenger's seat. Crisis is averted & Black Knight V2 has been found! May god forgive my lack of faith in human nature & my rash thinking of the worst!
I did however tell her I found the unit I lost. Told her Vaping may have saved my life and offered to piff her an Egip V1 complete setup and an assortment of different juices to try - which she politely declined.
Really, Very surprised to hear. I have only used mine in ss TC mode pushing a cubis tank w/ a 0.25ohm notch coil at 40w-50w and I find the preheat curve greatly improved over the V1. I have seen scope traces to verify this.
Sorry. I edited out that I bought it, cause I canceled it, but could have written that. I canceled it cause I saw the review where he claims the tank is mediocre, and I'm unsure how nice a steel tank will look on it.
Looks fine with ss tanks. Tank is on par with a Kanger Subtank mini and uses same coils & RBA.
Tank isn't wonderful, but its not the worst either. I actually swapped it out for a simple $12 Cubis tank, but I have run Aromamizers in mine. I use the Cubis w/ notch for battery life on the go.
Thank you! The Cubis looks great to use on the go! No more juice in my pocket is a great thought! Considering ordering the Knight again.

Have 2 in operation now (White & Black).
- Knight V2 is over 100g lighter than Knight V1 - Utterly Huge improvement. V1 stayed at home, V2 goes everywhere with me.
- Finish is same, very durable baked on paint over zinc mod as V1. My V1 dropped few times & no chips.
- Construction is good & sturdy, but vast departure from Knight V1. Like Joyetech built it.
- 510 now is same style that Evic VTC/Rx200 uses rather than SS slotted 510 V1 used.
- Battery door is sturdy and very convenient, but can have a slight movement toward base not a deal breaker but can annoy. Little duct tape on either side of magnet on door should sort it but haven't bothered or felt compelled.
- V2 has a larger screen, but displays same size format as V1 - Disappointing.
- 510 now is same style that Evic VTC/Rx200 uses rather than SS slotted 510 V1 used.
- Operation in TC is much better with more defined preheat spike and faster ramp.
- SS TC behavior smoother IMO.
- TCR mode was added in the Knight V2.
- Does not have power mode preheat setting.
- Knight v2 does not appear to be firmware update-able (which is just stupid) but the function may actually be there hidden and not mentioned in manual.
- I swapped in Cubis w/ 0.25ohm Notch coils to replace the Talos as I had a couple laying around & they provide good performance vs power consumed for on the go. It fires an Aromamizer w/ dual 24ga 3mm Ti 8wrap coils with a slight ramp in TC but that means you better carry spare batteries when leaving the house.
- Solid performance. Very pleased. Order 2 more from FT and got NIB 5 days ago. I paid a lot more & still think they were a bargain. Wish they came in more colors as I would order more. Look easily adaptable to use large screen DNA60.
I read about spitting regarding the Cubis. Have you experienced that?
