As a general rule of thumb, stay away from any e-liquids that are made in China, India, etc. However, if you find e-liquid made in a country with respectable manufacturing practices and enforced regulations, it may be fine. Use your best judgment.

I prefer American made e-juices for two reasons: supporting the American economy, and they tend to be safer than e-juices made in other countries. However, I have learned that not all American made e-juice is created equal. If at all possible, look for USP Certified e-juices and e-juice components.

USP Certification indicates that the product has maintained its purity throughout the chain of custody. Essentially, this means that from the time that the product was synthesized to the time that it is bottled by the e-liquid manufacturer, no undesirable chemicals have been added.

USP Certified is NOT the same as USP Grade. A product listed as USP grade indicates that the product was that while the product started out in a USP facility, it was re-bottled or re-packaged by vendors that are not USP Certified. Thus, the product can not longer be given USP Certification. That is not to say that USP Grade products have not maintained purity, but there is no certainty.

Ultimately, you may pay a prettier penny for USP Certified e-juice. However, I feel that this slight cost bump is worth the ease of mind that comes with knowing exactly what you are vaping.

Happy vaping
