As far as I can work it out Ol Doc Porter had a rant accusing other people of being trolls - which seemed it a bit over the top - it was just people questioning some of his methods, nothing really bad, just the general give and take of forum debate on possibly contentious matters. He then copied and pasted his rant to a number of different threads that he'd started, which then got deleted by the moderators - rightly so I think. It might have been OK on the original thread but copying it elsewhere is a bit over the top. He then threw his toys out of the pram and left, which is a shame as he seemed really knowledgable. As to why anyone else is leaving I have no idea.

Thank you for this information. I didn't feel it proper to answer or respond to this situation without knowing at lease some of the facts.
Individuals with strong opinions have never fared well in forum settings. There has to be some give and take diplomacy and common sense when dealing with diverse opinions. If that was the case and knowing how the mods operate I would also have to side with the opinion of the moderators.
