Koolada- Are you chemically inclined? What do ya know?

So I tried researching the ingredient regarding what it actually is (other than the standard copy/paste "Koolada (menthyl methyl lactate) is used specifically to give that "cold" feeling at the back of the mouth.It does not really have a 'taste', but it can be used in conjunction with menthol." that vendors put in their description.)

I discovered this:

but I didn't really have any predilection(or patience enough) to go in any deeper.

Then there was this :
Cooler than Menthol

Which has a preponderance of tech info about cooling compounds, but I just could not find menthyl methyl lactate listed specifically. Maybe I just missed it. But from both of these works it seems like "Koolada", as we know it, indirectly connects one way or another to face creams/ aftershaves.


The goodscents link has a bunch of links as you can see, but I am just wondering if we are the only group messing with this compound currently.


Anybody got anything else on MML or Koolada?

No. But I add it to some of my mixes and enjoy it. I've never smoked menthol analogs. You could always try to email TPA and ask.
