I've included pics, for size comparison, of my two brands. The top one is from ecigexpress, the bottom is from Good Prophets, and my papertowel is from Whole Food :).
thanks I will def pay the extra for smaller, but then I bought 3 shorty's for the 808 today so, might have to wait awhile lol. I'm spending way to much money on this stuff, esp shipping. If i ordered one of those adapters id like to tell em to throw in in and envelop with a stamp and save me 5 bucks lol, same with 801 tips(which i might ask GP about doing.)

I had some cartomizers left over from my greensmoker rig so I decided to try the video refilling. I have an Ego which I absolutely love, but the cleaning does get to be a bit much sometimes. So I bought a 510/808 adapter, popped on a cartomizer, and got so much more vapor than with the greensmoker. Used the refill video which worked great, so now I have outstanding battery life in a cartomizer. I may switch completely.

Also, the cone on the Ego fits over the cartomizer. There is a slight decrease in throat hit, but not as much as if I were using the greensmoker. And with a manual battery, no worries about leaking.

It'll be interesting to see how many refills I can get on a cartomizer. Then I can compare to the cost of burned up attys for a 510.

This is a very long thread:sleep:
Interesting comments about the carto flavor delivery.
I must say Ive never had aproblem with my 510 tasting less than tasty (make sense? lol) but I'm sure curious now to know if a Kr8 would be MORE tasty (I think I might die of flavor overload if thats true).
So you can buy an adapter that allows a 510 to take a KR8 type carto? ANd you still use the..what? the 510 atty with it? Or you need a KR8 atty? (Never used a KR8 as you can see so I have no idea how one fits together)

Don't worry about it :) There are flavors in V4L cartos that are unique - caramel mocha frap, cognac, french pipe, cuban cigar and a few others - most are pretty standard though (and that's good) but not more flavorful, unless one is talking about the fruit/berry flavors, then any 901, 801 is just as good with those.

So you can buy an adapter that allows a 510 to take a KR8 type carto?

Yes. heaven gifts, altsmoke, good prophet or what looks like what I'll be getting - the 'short' one - ecigexpress

ANd you still use the..what? the 510 atty with it? Or you need a KR8 atty?

You screw the cartomizer onto the adapter.
Vapor King Cartomizers

Also check out the premium cartos.

Hmm ok that helps then Kent, cheers :) I may just get a 901 adapter for now then - I like to drip - and seems like the 901 is closest to 510 but less hot for those fruits. Info is useful though in case I get a KR8 adapter as well for out n about convenience.

Good! Yep, adapters are a way to try different stuff without buying every kit ;-) There are some limitations going in certain directions but 510 to 901 and cartos (they're the same adapter) works well.

Purchased a 510 to quit analogs. Done.

Was so excited about finally quitting I set the 510 aside for a supposed easier way to continue. Chose the KR808D-1 for ease of use.

510 is back out of the closet. I use the KD for ease of use, but if I'm at home and able to spend the time playing? The 510 kicks the 808 where it belongs.

510-Much better vapor, flavor, and TH. Can use new juices with no reserve using the proper cart mod. Even the 150 batteries are more fun than KR 380's when your at home and having some fun. KR do perform better in the long run, but nothing like having the Joye 510 around for above purposes.

IMO.....The carts for 808 are inferior with no option to change the flavor (and some of them are just plain awful) I get these weird flavored cart juices, rinse them out, and replace with some good juice. With the 510, just add the new juice to a good cart mod and your on the way.

My advice? Don't spend a lot of jack buying "flavored carts". Especially if your just starting out? Get a 510 basic kit, a basic juice, a mod if you can swing it, and forget all the hype for "the wow stuff".

KISS is keep it simple stupid. I'd saved a ton of money in adherence to my own advice.

Happy Vaping!

the kr808 was the first one i bought, and using the easy refill method helps big time (not as messy too if u do it right) plus doing the spin thing to force the juice to the bottom of the cart after the refill works best (no gurgling), also makes it super quick to refill.

the 510 i acquired (nicstick), vapes great but the flavor sucks after a while for me (note for me), the 808 hangs in there for a good part of a day... but i cant direct drip with it as easily as i can with the 510.

my current purchases

1st setup is
kr-808 with 2 auto batteries and 10 cartomizers, plus a 30ml bottle of juice.
(Feb 15th 2010 was the day it came, i saw, and immediately vaped back to about 5 analogs a day from 2 packs a day)

2nd setup was a 510 with 1 auto battery, and a handful of carts, from a mall newsstand.

then i bought 2 more 30ml bottles of juice, 1 XL manual 808 battery as well as a 808 batt to 510 atty adapter. (thank you jesus for goodprophets tasty winston)

so now i pretty much have a great variety of vaping tools, lol

but the "No Frills" way is to go with a kr808. my wife likes the way the 510 works though, and with the 808 and 510 cart mod i did, it drags right for her and doesn't slip juice on her lips. (for when she borrows my 808)

the 510 to 808 mod, increased my Kr-808 cartomizer size and reduce the slippage from a bad refill. basically i took the cart of a 510 and slipped it into the top of 808 cartomizer to increase the chamber without looking to ridiculous at work and hold more juces, lol

(and as soon as i hit 15 posts... i post a link to the How to, lol)

I also started with a KR808 for the ease of use of just changing the carts. I like it alot for when I am at work or driving. It is a pain to have to clean and refill the carts all the time. I have 3 manual batteries, a manual passthru an pry around 75 carts now. I just got my 510 a couple days ago and I LOVE it. IMO it is way better than the 808 because of the vapor and also TH. It is alot easier to change flavors and so far I get more flavor from the 510. I am still experimenting with direct dripping cause I dont want to flood the atty. I have 2 manual batteries, 2 attys(2 more on the way), and a PCC for it. I just bought a Joye V3. Just thought I would share my experience with these 2 pv's.
