Update on this thread. I started it asking what model to suggest for my friends wife. I kinda of figured that for ease of use she would want the two piece. Well she bought a nice kit from vape4life and after 4 days tossed out her cigs. I talked to her on the phone yesterday and she is still loving it. She did say it didn't have the vapor of my 510 but she loves the flavor and how easy it is. Now I'm talking her hubby though filling the carts and I have never done it myself. They don't have internet except when they are at school, (they are both teachers) and they might not want to go on any site that could even be considered drug related. As they do deliver nic I can't blame them.

Three of my other friends have just switched from smokes to using the 510 and so far so good.

It's all good!!!!!!!

I have and use both a 510 (Bartleby, Janty eGo, Laser mod with stainless T-tips) and the kr8 kit with cartomizers. I started with the kr8 and cartomizers and used it for 3 months. It got me off analogs for sure. In my experience, I was still missing something though, which is why I decided to try 510. (My hubby felt the same, but unfortunately went back to cigs). Having both now, the 510 and cartomizers, I find myself naturally gravitating to the 510 most of the time. The vapor is richer or fuller, but smoother, better rounded mouth-feel, yet mellower flavor. The kr8 is great for driving or on the go (actually I just use adapters on the eGo and Bartleby for cartos) and with that it's about flavor. I definitely taste the flavor more and it's stronger in a cartomizer, but yet lacking in what I want from the mouth-feel of the vapor. When I get somewhere where I can drip, I stop using the cartomizer.

When I smoked, it was also about the ritual of the smoke itself, which is why I think the 510 does more for me overall - I like that rich, full, rounded vapor slowly swirling about (oops, sounds sensual). Honestly, I think vaping touches on 2 addictions (smoking and food). The stronger flavor in a cartomizer satisfies my sweet tooth and taste buds, but when I want to feel like I'm smoking it's the 510. There are great liquids out there with cleanness and a subtle undertone of flavor. Best of both worlds to me is a cartomizer adapter on the Janty eGo and Bartleby for on the go, and 510 direct dripping all other times, and I got it all at my fingertips. Just my 2 cents.

Wow, that's a good 2 cents worth! That mirrors my observations and feelings almost exactly. And you're right on the nature of the vapor of the 510 here: "I like that rich, full, rounded vapor slowly swirling about..." It's heavier.... where the cartos can be a bit thin - but better on the Bartleby than the KR8. Esp. true of VG of course, but PG as well. Thanks for posting that!

I've found when I refill my cartos with 100% vg juice in my Vapor King, the vapor is pretty comparable to my 510. Figured I'd share that in case you'd like to pass it on to your friend to see if she might wanna try it to make it even more enjoyable. :)

I think this person has it backwards. They may be thinking that atty means battery, when it actually means atomizer. So I think most people agree that the optimum smoke stick is a KR808 XL battery with a 510 adapter to fit a 510 atomizer.

I use a 510 battery with an adapter for cartomizers. That's my personal preference. I don't care for the 808 batteries, but have bought cartomizer adapters for most of my vapes.

Cool that makes sense. VG does seem to put out a lot more vapor. Thanks

I was loving my adapter for my ego to allow me to use cartos as I like to use them when I am in uniform and working a flight. (A flight crew member dripping liquid into a metal shaped tube while walking through an airport may present its issues, not to mention be a real PIA!)

But I recently tried a KR808 Batt from a friend that just got her kit from V4L and I was amazed! Will soon have a KR8 kit on the way for while Im on the road, and of course my go to ego while im home and in my hotel rooms!

Safe travels!

I'm with you Deena. I'm really enjoying the flavour and vapour out of my 510/808 cartomizer combination. It doesn't bother me that it's not a true 3.7 volts, I just like it.

I am about to try the route, I didn't read what I was buying right and got my 808 with the long battery and they just don't feel right. Cartos are much nicer tho. Who has the best adapters? I heard some have different hole set ups or something

I'm not sure about the different hole set ups, but I prefer the adapter from ecigexpress (Joye 510 Battery to KR808D-1 Cartomizer [ADAPTER] - $5.99 : Electronic Cigarette, e-Juice | ecigExpress). I've only use two different types, though. The other one was from Good Prophets (great company; PV Adapters) which is cheaper and a little larger than ecigexpress. Lite Cig has them too (Thread Adaptors).

I agree; they taste so good and I found them much less harsh than my experience with the 808. I try to buy adapters for all my PVs.

I get my adapters from MadVapes or Good Prophets. :)
I looked at both of theirs, and have done business with both great companies, but they are both pretty think looking. The one of the other site recommended looks alot thinner almost thread to thread with a slim washer deviding them. i want to add as little length as possible, with a 901 flat tip on a carto it gets pretty long.

I've included pics, for size comparison, of my two brands. The top one is from ECigexpress, the bottom is from Good Prophets, and my papertowel is from Whole Food :).
