These batteries are the biggest headache. Yes, they have longer battery life and vape better but they also have the following problems:

- Cleaning is more difficult. The small groove around the centre post fills up with black gunk and only the slightest amount seems to prevent contact.

- It is not compatible with older KR808 chargers/PCCs or adaptors with KR808 threading. Screwing these in too tight can damage the centre post and lose contact. This is because the centre pin on chargers/PCC's dents or moves the centre post.

- On the subject of the centre post, it moves very easily and needs nudging about to re-establish contact. This often happens after attempts to clean out the gunk mentioned above.

- A clearomizer will run off a KR808 version 1 battery fitted with an adaptor but not off the version 2's.

- Most KR808 adaptors on the market also have the centre pin which damages KR808 type 2 batteries.

I'm sick of the frustration caused by these batteries and am seeking a reliable source of KR808 version 1's. They are sold out everywhere I've looked so far and those that have them do not ship 'Down Under'. :glare:

Otherwise, it's 510 batteries for me. The above issues are sufficient to make me switch. So much for lightweight portability and elegance.

Has anyone else noticed these issues? Does anyone know of a KR808 Version 1 source with USPS First Class International shipping?

And they are not really sealed if you mean the "sealed" auto. An auto would not work sealed since the drag sensor is inside the battery. The center hole is just moved to the side of the post as 1-2 holes in the side of the post. I did buy one of those, found I had to buy their charger to charge it (not my V4L chargers which work fine on the rubberized manuals), then did not like the drag. Re cleaning around the post of the rubberized manuals - I remove the carto from the battery when adding juice and clean the carto up to prevent leaking, and as with my other batteries, before charging I run a pointed bit of tissue around in the circular valley around the post and wipe the post. I also only use clear liquids in cartos. The ends of my batteries stay pretty clean.

I don't know about international shipping nor understand your location. If UK is the most likely place that would ship to you, try asking in the UK forum in National Forums.

My KR808D-1 models are V4L.com single logo manuals with the custom 10+ second cutoff. I do have one standard Kanger manual KR808D-1 and one manual rubberized one (SmokelessImage Volt, same as Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6, etc)

The issue with shipping is that some Vendors charge US$18 for two batteries and then US$35 for shipping (USPS Express Shipping) when other Vendors charge US$6 for the same weight (USPS First Class).

Many US Vendors (and not just PV Vendors) will not ship outside of the US at all.

I definitely have a battery cleaning regime. I believe in the paper towel- Handee towels are the vaper's friend! :)

Thank you Dormouse for pointing out my location issue. I have put it in my profile :)
