Kwe Kwe means hello in the language of my heritage; I am of the Huron Wendat Nation, one of the 635 + "First Nations" in Canada. When it comes to tobacco we are conflicted: given to us by the Creator it is one of our sacred medicines; as used by people the world over it is both a source of badly needed money that pays for everything from schools, to books, to food for the under privileged and as much of a scourge on the health of Natives as non-Natives.
I started vaping last week with the encouragement of my brother (SloHand) who has been vaping for a year now. I've got to say that I haven't had the slighest desire for an "analogue" since and the thought of having one is actually unappealing. It's a feeling similar to when I ditched my PC for an Apple, what took me so long? Still waiting for Visio but that's another story, wrong forum.
For me vaping is more than a question of saving my life it is an opportunity to help. I am the volunteer President of the Board of Directors of Anishnawbe Health Toronto which is a community health centre for the Aboriginal people of the Greater Toronto Area. I don't imagine for a minute that everyone is going to "convert" to vaping but I think its important to get the word out and give our clients an option. As such I would appreciate some feedback and would be curious to know if there are other Aboriginal people on this forum who might want to discuss reactions and attitudes to vaping among our people.

Thank you
