This is for all the ladies who rebuild:

1. What tools do you use for rebuilding your rbas?

2. How do you organize all the essentials for building?

3. What gauge kanthal wire do you use?

4. Which wick material do you prefer?

5. Which mods and rba's are your faves?

would love to see PICS!!!!

These are my essential tools, all of which I keep in a handy cosmetic bag from target:

double-pointed sock needles (used for coiling kanthal): sizes 000, 00, 0, 1 (1.5mm, 1.75mm, 2.0mm, 2.25mm) all stuck in a piece of stapled felt
a pair of rosary making pliers & a pair of flat nose pliers

ohm meter
26 gauge A1 kanthal
1/16 size mini flat head screwdriver & zero sized mini phillips
soto pocket torch

shiseido cotton pads for wicking
a pair of small tweezers, nail cutter, and cuticle pusher (for cutting wire & for positioning and removing wicks)

I made good use of joann fabrics' 50% off coupons. heh. and scavenged an ulta for clearance grooming supplies. :D

I've shown you mine, now show me yours!

LOLOLOL Tiny, when I first read your post, I SWORE the first question was: "How do you rebuild your BRAS?"

I'm not terribly sophisticated. Just have one of those plastic divider boxes. Keep spare driptips in one section. Different types of heads scattered in other sections. A pair of tweezers, a 1/16" drill bit, nail clippers and beard trimmer in another. Spare kayfun sections in other cubbyholes. My wire is on a spool that doesn't fit in that box, so it's in one of my juice boxes.

Generally use 30g kanthal, but I have some 28 and some 32 for "futzing". Mostly have kanger heads that I rebuild for my EVODs, but I have 4 kayfun clones that I'm experimenting with.

Typically like cotton, but I'm trying some of the cellucotton (rayon). Jury's still out on which one I like better. My ohmmeter is one of my MVPs or VV3s (don't sub-ohm at this time) I don't bother torching my coils - just dry-firing before I wick so I can compress a little better.

Don't have a pic handy, but will try to remember to post one :)

Hi Dinger!

What gauge kanthal do you use to rebuild your evods, haven't tried it yet, but I still use my smoov vape pen while driving (don't drip and drive, right?). is it easy?

Hi Dinger!

I use 30g for about 98% of my rebuilds. EVODs, Kayfuns - seems to be the most forgiving. About 9 wraps around my 1/16 drill bit gives me about 1.9 ohms. I struggled with the 28g in the EVODs - couldn't get enough wraps to get above 1.3-1.4 ohms. That low will work on my MVP2/VV3s, but I hate how it slurps the battery.

I may toy with a higher-ohm build (anything above 2.0-2.1 is usually a "goof" in my wraps with the 30g.) I can get higher ohms off the 32g with same number of wraps as the 30g. Just not sure what it will do for me, other than allow me to play with a coil or two....

Rebuilding is super-easy. Check out the following links. I used them when I first got started. I've heard rumors that the newer Kanger heads are a little more touchy to disassemble - i.e. you can bend the chimney when trying to pull it apart from the base. Be careful with that.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/coil-builds/432047-my-bad-pictorial-evod-rewicking-cotton-recoiling.html

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/brookj1986/6066-simple-protank-coil-replacement.html

One of the links is a little better than the other. Once I got things disassembled and saw how it all fit back together, it made a whole bunch of sense.

You might want to search on the forum for a picture of a kanger head disassembled. Someone did a great drawing (I found it months ago, and have no stinking clue where it is now) to show all the pieces and how they interlock.

Have fun - it's kinda cool once you get it down.

WOW! Dinger I was with you when I saw the title of this page. I kinda  at first. Then I said HEY let me take a peek. Well being a former carpenter...I have tools out wahzoo. I just picked up and ohm meter and some 30ga wire. I just started rebuilding a Tesla D1 rda and a Smok RSBT Hybrid so far so good. I will try and post some pics next time I have all the gear out to make some coils.

hahaha Valkyrie, I was going to make the title of this thread LADIES show me your #OO#S! then have the first post read: Ladies show me your TOOLS! but not sure if the women's room forum is like my knitting forum, where we always make awful dumb offcolor jokes like that. Ladies would then post pics of paper mache, crocheted, knitted, crafted etc.. boobs. goodness my humor has just gone down hill in the cheesy department. ;b
